TM gave me 2 choices, either I pay RM250 to change new modem without 2 years tying contract or get a new modem for free with 2 years contract. What is the modem that they will provide us? Currently signing up 500mbps contract. Thanks

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jan 16 2019, 05:04 PM) Don't bother. Get your own router. 500Mbps contract? You mean you are getting turbo upgrade to 500Mbps? New signup is only 30 or 100Mbps. Ouch, why did you do that? Might as well buy your own. Routers are cheap and plenty are better quality than DIR-842. Thanks for your input, yes turbo upgrade to 500mbps, I have seen a lot of recommendation for the asus blue cave. Just managed to cancel the router that they offered. What else do I need besides a new router. A new cable as well? TM technician charging me RM50 for the setup once I get everything ready. I am quite confused with the usb thingy in order to get full speed. So I could not get full speed on mobile phone?

Hi guys i just bought a new tp link c5400x router to get the turboed speed 500mbps. Based on the wired connection speed test, I just merely get around 100mbps download speed. Did I miss anything with my setup? I am using Cat5e cable with alcatel lucent I240g. Should I call them to ask them to check my upgrade status?

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Jan 25 2019, 03:42 PM) Change to Cat 6 cable, and test your BTU. Something is throttling your connection to 100Mbps, and it could be your BTU or the cable itself Nope. They will extend contract if they change FOC, or you can choose to pay RM188 for their stock TM router, which is very basic. Get your own and set it up yourself. How could I check with whether they are throttling my connection and test my BTU?
