Does anyone have any problem with their stock DIR-850L router? Mine went crazy yesterday and my devices weren't able to find the wireless SSID and couldn't connect. Tried wired connection but there was no internet connection, the internet LED on the cylinder was orange instead of green.

I also couldn't log in to the router as admin for some reason, says 'invalid password' even though I've been logging in to the thing using the same password that I set before all fine, using the default password that's written on the sticker under the cylinder also didn't work.

So I used a needle to factory reset the router, set the PPPoE stuff up, and wireless and internet connection is working again. Restarted the router, tried logging into it and it gives me 'invalid password' like before.

Is this thing broken? It's only been about 3 years and it's never acted up like this before.
*
Seems like it is broken as you mentioned that the same thing happen after reset. 3 Years is good for lifespan of that router, as most change it far before 3 years. Time for you to consider getting a new router.

I once use that router and intermittenly the Wifi would lost connection. For you to be able to use it 3 years is good enough.

Hi guys, I'm moving to a new location but TM customer service say that the port on my new location is already full and put me on the waiting list.

Usually how long is the waiting period? Is there any way to make them install the new port faster? Customer service said if I can bare the cost, then it will be faster x.x'
Or should I resort to maxis fibre instead since time is not available there?
*
They will wait until the area has enough demand only will install new port. Try to ask Maxis as well, if they can get port for you then go for it.

guys, my current 50mbps upgraded to turbo 500, since contract dah habis, can recommend a bit which othe telco can offer reliable fibre like unifi?

If your area has Time, go for it. Otherwise just hope for TNB fibre to reach your area then can choose from Astro or other provider.

I've posted this in the router thread but got no response so I was wondering if anyone here been tho the same problem or able to assist.

I am using Unifi Turbo-ed to 300 Mbps. BTU using Huawei 8240. So, happily changed my router to Archer C6. But after trying to config around, the max speed I could get is around ~120 Mbps max for WiFi (Tested on Lenovo X280 laptop and iPhone XS). Often than not it's below 100 Mbps.

LAN Cable from BTU to router I'm using CAT 5e. Are they any config that I've to set in order to reach near to 300?

Location of test: Right beside the router and BTU running on 5Ghz.
*
Just to make sure the account is properly cap to 300mbps, did you test using lan cable on laptop and see how's the speed? If you have spare lan cable, can try to swap the cable and test again just to make sure.

When they implement quite easy to just up the plan, they happy to upgrade you even if you're in contract without any penalty (more money ma).
*
They will be happy... as change plan can renew contract somemore.

haha true..24m contract how to terminate..

compared to maxis rm89 unlimited package..how ar?
*
Maxis RM89 has 30mbps download/upload, while TM RM79 has only 30mbps download and 10mbps upload. You choose according to what you want.

If router is still ancient L7-N-R2000 and got turboed already will TM replace FOC without extending contract? I know BTU will replace, but I think router won't, or need to extend?
*
Highly likely will extend. Better buy your own router.

recently saw a post which said Unifi got news to share on 31 Jan, any idea what is it about.. cheap plan?

as plan to sign up RM79 plan.
*
Why not wait a few more days to see if there is any good anouncement before you jump to sign up. I hope they anounce the 300mbps to 800mbps pricing as well.

My case in another thread. Here
Anyone manage to unsubscribe Aneka Plus Pack so the bill adjusted to RM129?

Thanks.
*
TM will just ask you to change to the RM129 package and renew contract. This case is same as those who are paying for STD20 on top of their UniFi lite pack.

That is called a swap. Not sure if TM can even retain discount if people do that. But you may try and update us.
