spot wrongly la.. sweat.gif It's 8600M GT.

Yep. It's using santa rosa chipset only. Btw, 15" is with LED backlit, whereas 17" don't. I thinking it's again... marketing strategy..

It's just simply because 17 inches LED screen does not even exist, and even if it does, it is expensive as hell.

Even Sony only uses LED in their 13.3 inchers. it's hard to manufacture this stuff.

hehe yes was about to edit that tongue.gif haha.. everything looks the same (externally) but wonder if they have fixed stuff underneath the hood. It being too hot etc.. I could sell my current 2.16 core 2 duo here in NZ for not that much of a loss- then balik malaysia end of june pick one of these up. But dunno ler worth all the trouble ah haha.. What if it ends up even hotter with new defects lol..

yep.. i know that. rolleyes.gif But LED for 15". It's still a very good market-tactic i would say. 17" (high-end), can support 1680 x 1050 pixels. This revision is quite good compare to mb sweat.gif MBP now is fully 64bit machine.. brows.gif

not sure about the heat issue. I think maybe it's still the same. But FSB800 hmm.gif I think it's not worth selling your current mbp. The main different is chipset which can utilize the true 64bit for the processor and gc which is directx10 (only for those gamers brows.gif )

haha yea i guess.. i dun game at all on my mbp. Got my desktop for that but that also dun game much lol.. Only play racing sims (not that often oso) and i bought a logitech g25 wheel and barely use it aiyo.. tongue.gif haha

But one thing sakit hati la these small defects with my current mbp : Got 1 dead pixel my mousepad a bit cacat cannot scroll with my fingers close together must be bout slightly less than half an inch apart (my dad's biasa mb can side by side oso can scroll).

Ah and this one thing i wanna ask.. when you guys type in firefox (e-mails or forums) do you find it laggy at times ah? Same thing in MS word but not in text editor.

edit: Possible battery defect?? I got my mbp in january and the batt health is already 76%! my dad's and uncle's macbooks all 99% like that and both of em are a few months older than mine.

They should seriously slash the prices in Malaysia since our ringgit is now stronger than US dollars.

They had already slash prices in Australia and UK for the same reason.

So you are happy about Malaysians getting ripped-off by the weakening dollars?

No wonder everything is so expensive in Malaysia nowadays if everyone has the same attitude.

@verticalforce,
There are other factors to take into consideration; perhaps more money's spent on R&D, Advertising? Plus, taxes are different, subsidies are different. I'm not in the line so I really can't say what the margin is...

I guess a price decrease would also devalue my 'not so new' MBP so.. hEHeh i was just being selfish.!! kEKekek but a price cut would be good since I never expect such tech products to appreciate in price nod.gif

Back to the RAM prices, I suggest u check with a local reseller the actual price before getting it in UK - when I compared the prices with Germany, their prices were more shocking! shocking.gif

@Mike3300,
It's not v much cheaper in SG, not after the exchange rate - at least not when there's a price promo lah `k? I'm not into iPods so that's not something I look into.. right now, the onli thing I'm after would be the ACPP! *g*

R&D, Advertising? Hhahahaha...when have you seen Apple advertises in Malaysia?

There is no tax imposed on computers in Malaysia, the resellers are cashing in on people's ignorance.

I'm sorry if I've come a bit harsh but I hate how Singapore has their own "real" Apple stores while we have to contend with all this stupid resellers!

The only advertisement we can always see it's the Intel Core 2 Duo. There's loads of nice Apple advertisement but it's not here. sad.gif

I'm hoping for a price drop, my daddy wants to get me a PC notebook. Ish! I want a Mac for my design education!
