spot wrongly la..
Yep. It's using santa rosa chipset only. Btw, 15" is with LED backlit, whereas 17" don't. I thinking it's again... marketing strategy.. |

It's just simply because 17 inches LED screen does not even exist, and even if it does, it is expensive as hell.
Even Sony only uses LED in their 13.3 inchers. it's hard to manufacture this stuff. |

Ohhhhh...my plan to get a MacBook Pro are going down!
The new 15" model uses LED screen? It uses nVidia graphics, will the price still RM7799? This post has been edited by Cello: Jun 5 2007, 11:45 PM |

They should seriously slash the prices in Malaysia since our ringgit is now stronger than US dollars.
They had already slash prices in Australia and UK for the same reason. |

So you are happy about Malaysians getting ripped-off by the weakening dollars?
No wonder everything is so expensive in Malaysia nowadays if everyone has the same attitude. This post has been edited by verticalforce: Jun 6 2007, 01:25 AM |

@verticalforce,
There are other factors to take into consideration; perhaps more money's spent on R&D, Advertising? Plus, taxes are different, subsidies are different. I'm not in the line so I really can't say what the margin is... I guess a price decrease would also devalue my 'not so new' MBP so.. hEHeh i was just being selfish.!! kEKekek but a price cut would be good since I never expect such tech products to appreciate in price Back to the RAM prices, I suggest u check with a local reseller the actual price before getting it in UK - when I compared the prices with Germany, their prices were more shocking! |

@Mike3300,
It's not v much cheaper in SG, not after the exchange rate - at least not when there's a price promo lah `k? I'm not into iPods so that's not something I look into.. right now, the onli thing I'm after would be the ACPP! *g* |

R&D, Advertising? Hhahahaha...when have you seen Apple advertises in Malaysia?
There is no tax imposed on computers in Malaysia, the resellers are cashing in on people's ignorance. I'm sorry if I've come a bit harsh but I hate how Singapore has their own "real" Apple stores while we have to contend with all this stupid resellers! The only advertisement we can always see it's the Intel Core 2 Duo. There's loads of nice Apple advertisement but it's not here.
I'm hoping for a price drop, my daddy wants to get me a PC notebook. Ish! I want a Mac for my design education! |
