OK people. I see that the posts in our lovely WoW forum is mainly for people to say stuffs like "ZOMG a 70 shammy got pwned by a lvl 10 rogue" or "i think this golden illidan look alike mask is cool". Why not we start with something where we can do some serious discussion to help the newbies here.

Let me start this off. Any of you know how Strength contributes to the attack power and hit rating. Theoretically speaking, would you pick an item that gives 1 Strength or 1 Hit Rating and 1 Attack Power. This I believe is the question most players ask when they receive their loots/rewards in outlands. Let the discussions begin

Strength contribution to AP and hit rating differ from classes to classes. But sorry, I'm not very sure about how much though

and actually whats bonus heal means? let say i have +1300 bonus heal + prayer of mending usually heals for 800 (what text says). whats the output of ProM after calculated the bonus heals?

The official WoW Class forums has lots of sticky threads at the top for these questions. Some outdated, but many still relevant.

If you haven't reach the hit rating cap then 22 spell hit > 22 spell dmg. Not by a large margin though.

For Prayer of Mending, u get significantly lower bonus to healing since it is instant cast. Of all priest holy spells, only Renew will the full amount of ur +1300 bonus, since it is a heal over time spell.

+heal bonus is calculated using the formula below, meaning the shorter the cast time, the less benefit you get from your +heal, while a 3.5 sec spell will gain full benefit

(Cast Time of Spell) / 3.5

heheh....and if you have 1300+ bonus heal, and yet dunno how it works..ebay much?

so if u do have 1300+ heal, and you cast a 3.5sec heal spell, you will get +1300 (more or less), try casting naked, then putting all your gear and casting again

for gold earnings :

skinning - knothide leather. better still if you can find a LW who can turn it to Heavy Knothide leather or the scraps into Knothide Leather for free. a lot of professions need leather so it's in constant demand at the AH that it's usually out.

mining - thorium. surprisingly the bottleneck for lvling JC. and with a few months that BC has been out, it's still fetches premium prices. once u've leveled up to artisan mining, then get other kind of ores.

Watch the AH. See the prices for cloth (Silk, Mageweave, Runecloth) and leather (Thick, Rugged Leather) and ores (Tin, Iron, Mithril etc). If you find them ridiculous start farming your own and undercut it a little. Don't flood the AH by selling all your stacks at once, put up 3-4 stacks per item. Many high levels are switching to Tailoring, Blacksmithing and/or Leatherworking for the epic trainer patterns and some are willing to pay instead of farming the lowbie mats themselves.

Strength (Str) and Attack Power(AP) are related stats e.g. For warriors 1 Str = 2AP, so you would always pick a +1Str over +1AP. By conmparison, for rogues: 1 Str = 1AP and 1Agi=1AP.

Hit rating is a measure of ability to hit a mob. It is not directly related to Str and AP but it is important because even if you have 3K AP, when you miss your target all that awesome power is down the longkang.

hi, just start a rogue at lvl 54. just wander should i use sword or dagger ? which 1 should i focus on.

the sword seem have lot of critical damage but dagger can use ambush and backstap.

peanutz is right. but to give u a clearer answer, private servers are illegal blizzard servers. u won't like it much coz there's not enough ppl and also not safe for your PC i.e. prone to virus, keyloggers, etc.

definitely not a good idea to check.
