Immediately retired .
*
Why retired after 12 years, retire now also can.
5m in asnb, like that also need work for 12 years more, then no people shall retire.. lol

Bang , tak boleh retired . 300k dividend per year cannot enjoy life kuat kuat.

Unker very greedy haha.
*
300k p.a. not enough.. wow..

Uncle need travel with private jet every week, then rich as MJ also not enough.. hmm..

Edit: But anyway, different people got different financial goals, I would retired with 5m, some people work till dead even got way more than 5m, so I got no comments or objection on uncle's goal.

Some banker told me , 5 Million cash is the number to aim for retirement.

But some people also told me, the things money can do for you get less when you got older.
5 million for a 40 year old, and 5 million for 60 year old - different.
*
The time you can spent with money also lesser when getting older.

Personal loan promo (not in Malaysia)

APR 5.25%, Flat rate 2.82% (inclusive insurance).

Does it worth to take this personal loan, and invest in ASNB ?

Please throw your opinion...thanks smile.gif

If not in Malaysia, don't forgot currency risk...

interest rate start from 5.25% apr equivalent to 2.8% flat <-- i tak faham oso , please teach me .
*
I don't want talk further on definition of apr, effective, etc as different countries or financial institutions might come out with different definitions. See multiple definitions of apr: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Annual_percentage_rate

For this question, put tenure 6 years, interest rate 2.8% you will get 5.25% rate, then digest yourself.

U invest in ASNB becoz it's stable, but want to borrow money in foreign currency... ??

U gonna cry man bcoz of the fluctuation
*
Or smile if foreign currency went down against ringgit. Risk and opportunity always cross related. And I think our boss veera is someone who would like to take some risk. So, up to him to decide.

ASM 1 is available now for top-up!

Too bad, I can only top-up RM 200 into ASM 1, as I have no more eFD, and the rest of my money is locked up in my money market fund.

My pocket is not as deep, as the pocket of guy3288, OPT, bbgoat, cklimm, DBHILUHDAQWISRTNJ and so on.
*
Topped up xxxx, thanks for inform.

I have waited for 36 days since end of Jan, despite balance 13 more days, I give up on ASM, and started topup ASW.....
*
I didn't purposely wait for even a single day. There is no really good reason to have asm over the others.

Recent years asm had slightly better dividends, but doesn't mean future will be the same. Just top up whenever you got the money or mood is fine.

So we expect ASM2 - 5% to 5.25% ???
*
Between 5% to 6%, perhaps 5.75%, so tally with last year ASM higher 0.25%.

5.5% is low of course, what to do? economy not so good.

Put in EPF also limited 60k /year
*
I think one reason EPF got higher dividend is due to oversea investments.

Nothing to do on my side, just stay.

Dont think will hit 5.75%...

In history ASM > ASM2
*
Not always. Also past performance isn't indicator of future dividend. It could be higher, same or lower.

My personal view on this
-  at least the dividends reflect the state of economy in the country. Some people who are jelly of PNB higher dividends payout in the past have been accusing it to be a Ponzi Scheme.  With this, it shows PNB to be transparent and solid institution.

- it is still higher than FD (at the most 4.5%) and interest rate is set to come down next year.

- Inflation rate in country of 1-2%, as compared to 3-4% in previous years, we still have a higher net gain

Dividends 6%, inflation 3% = nett gain 3%
Dividends 5.5%, inflation 1.5% = net gain 4%

at least we got some preservation of wealth, if not slightly increase in wealth , no?
*
Well, most people wouldn't think and reasoning so much, but just compare with past years, and EPF, also bank loan rate for asb2 (for bumi), to judge is it good dividend.
