And I've read that if you sell off 100% for a particular fund, then you won't get dividend already. So you need to retain a bit to still "own" the fund to entitle for dividends of the units you've sold.

i think for sure many will withdraw if that happen, at least me will withdraw.

The pros of withdraw b4 the change of FP to VP,  if unit price drop in the 1st few weeks/months, we are lucky we escaped earlier and got time to consider to grab the cheapskate; if the unit price keep raising in the 1st few weeks/months, we have time to consider the best timing to buy.

Would you consider ASB a type of saving or investment? Reason I'm asking is I read that savings are suppose to be 'safe' and something you are well saving up for (short term)

Investment on the other hand are there to grow your wealth in the longer period.
