Not sure about this.

FD pays out every 3 months. This is yearly. FD is lesser risk.
*
Every 3 months but at what rate?
Keep in mind if you early withdrawal also you still get paid 6% of that month(s) (if you keep from 1st to the next 1st).

Say you keep for 3 months, you get paid amount x 0.5 x 3 months.

oh...ok

So dividends are on monthly rest?

Then its quite good.

What is the 0.5 multiplier that you showed?
*
Dividends counted monthly but paid yearly.
0.5 =6%/12 months = 0.5%/month

And I've read that if you sell off 100% for a particular fund, then you won't get dividend already. So you need to retain a bit to still "own" the fund to entitle for dividends of the units you've sold.

anyone can confirm this?
*
Correct. That's why keep min RM100 inside.

do we know what ASM, ASM2, ASM3 are invested in??

if not, then how do we choose?
*
Is all there in Myasnb. If you never have account it won't appear there.

QUOTE(moosset @ Mar 31 2019, 10:28 AM)

*

QUOTE(avinlim @ Apr 4 2019, 11:43 AM)
i think for sure many will withdraw if that happen, at least me will withdraw.
*
True. People got for asnb because of their fixed price.

QUOTE(tbgreen @ Apr 4 2019, 11:50 AM)
The pros of withdraw b4 the change of FP to VP,  if unit price drop in the 1st few weeks/months, we are lucky we escaped earlier and got time to consider to grab the cheapskate; if the unit price keep raising in the 1st few weeks/months, we have time to consider the best timing to buy.

So better withdraw if there is any prior announcement or indication. No?
*
Not worth sticking iwth ASNB if change to VP

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Apr 4 2019, 12:12 PM)
If really vp I would withdraw and park my funds someplace else.

You are not the only one.

Would you consider ASB a type of saving or investment? Reason I'm asking is I read that savings are suppose to be 'safe' and something you are well saving up for (short term)

Investment on the other hand are there to grow your wealth in the longer period.

If say I was keeping money for a purchase, would ASB be a good vehicle?
*
Both. Is liquid and returns are better than FD. You can keep ASB for years. Who said need short term.

Yes good choice.
