I would say CASH.
min 500k or 1mil depends on which bank.
and please don't confused with short term benefit and long term commitment.
I never feel all these gimmick worth my effort.
I will go to whatever banks that give me better rate for deposit and borrowing, period.

RHB don't know what is the floor limit but I did get their invitation after I placed a sizeable deposit with them. I straight throw into my trash bin.

For a combination of deposit and / or investment product: 1. Alliance Privilege - 300K; 2. CIMB Preferred - 250K; 3. Maybank Privilege - 250K; 4. UOB Privilege Banking - 500k; 5. HSBC Premier Banking - 200k; Not sure about the rest. For housing loans, all the banks stated above are very competitive at the sub 500k loan, but for CIMB, the rates are much better for loan above RM 1million. Not sure about that, according to the Edge‘s advertisement, it’s definitely RM250,000 for Preferred Banking. The 1M threshold is probably for their private wealth banking segment. UOB is by far the bank with the most discerning criteria in granting privileges. They have strong relations and presence amongst SME in Klang and Shah Alam, Klang branch alone has more than 10billion in deposit. This post has been edited by Hisham8686: Oct 20 2018, 07:09 PM

I thought in CIMB, either you queue up like anyone else, or go see yr personal banker, no? am not Zahid or jibby, where got criteria to qualify for 'private' wealth...…..

To be bluntly honest, the distinction is very subtle according to CIMB Preferred website, except for the commitment quantum, 250k vs 1million. Even for Preferred customer, there’s always a queue.

Ultra richExcerpt: But zooming back in to the 487 ultra-rich individuals as of this year, only 33 of them have a wealth of at least US$500 million or RM2 billion. Out of these 487 persons, 184 are either already billionaires or have at least RM415 million assets (US$100 million-US$500 million category), and the remaining 270 are in the US$50 million-US$100 million (RM207.9 million-RM415 million) category. One step below the ultra-high net worth (UHNW) individuals are 46,215 individuals who are categorised as high net worth (HNW) individuals, namely 2,697 in the US$10 million-US$50 million (RM41.58 million-RM207.9 million) category, 3,963 in the US$5 million-US$10 million (RM20.79 million-RM41.58 million) category, and a significantly larger number of 39,555 individuals in the US$1 million-US$5 million (RM4.16 million-RM20.79 million) category. If it feels like the super-rich are an exclusive club in Malaysia, that’s because these 46,702 UHNW and HNW individuals collectively only amount to 0.2 per cent (not even the proverbial 1 per cent) of the 21.372 million adults in Malaysia. This post has been edited by aspartame: Oct 21 2018, 12:09 PM
