Well, this had been posted here before :

http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=11889833

Not sure where it supposed to belong though because it seems it can be in both places..LOL..

Anyway, Yes, Zalman TNN series is using heatpipe as well. But, the heatpipe here is to contact the proc and the body of the casing to spread the heat via the casing. As far as i know, those heatpipes are only for sale seperately from the casing. Besides, i have asked the price for the TNN 500 before. Cost almost a bomb Rm2k last time in Spore.

Its a great idea, especially for portable, weather resistant systems (no fans to suck in rain or dust. Now, if only I could adapt a PSU to take in power from a SLA battery, I could have a highly portable video editing system-no need to wait until I get back to start editing.

Not sure about thermalright though but trust me, there is no portable when it comes to the Zalman..LOL..From the last time i research about it, it weighs around 30KG. However, it does come with wheels for you to push it around..LOL..

um well... so far what we can see is just the outside of the casing...
it'll be interesting to see what goes on inside.
if just cooling the casing alone with heatpipes and pins, its totally overkill.
but if the hot stuff like the CPU and GFX are connected via heatpipe to the casing, then it gets interesting... like what zalman did...
could it run fanless? how would it compare to a casing with good airflow and good heatsinks (coz this aint gonna be cheap)? that we'll have to wait and see...

Saw di... first time Thermalright has a reasonable booth in Computex. Don't think it'll sell though, it's quite madness

Too lazy to take pics but think of it like this... a cpu plate with lalang of heatpipes connected with it

edit: they also have some water cooling rads.
