QUOTE(adele123 @ Oct 2 2024, 06:32 PM) I use trip.com for my hotel stay in china. I think partly because i was told by using trip.com, i should solve the "no foreigner allowed" issue. No source i can provide though. Trip.com can already? Or need to specifically use Ctrip.com?

Hi everyone,
Has anyone tried booking and paying hotels using other platforms (other than Trip.com).
For example, how about agoda.com; booking.com, hotels.com?
i saw the China hotels listed in those platforms. I can actually proceed to pay and book them.
But will there be issues like upon arriving there, i'm afraid the hotels might later said they don't recognise those platforms?

QUOTE(dinokun @ Jun 20 2025, 11:59 AM) someone keep saying above RMB200 transaction the alipay will charge 3% service charge? is this true? i saw lately wechat pay they say waive rmb1000 daily for a limited time period. so its better use wechat pay + wise / gx bank? just open a bank of china account and link the union pay debit card with your alipay account, and the 3% service charge will be waived for all transactions using alipay

QUOTE(chang3rd @ Jul 3 2025, 12:04 PM) Bank of China account in Malaysia's debit card ? That would work ? You have tried ? Yes, i tried this before. Just go to any Bank of China branch and open an account. They will give you the Union Pay Debit Card. Go home and link the debit card number to your AliPay. In China, i usually used either AliPay or credit card to pay merchants. I have also used the debit card to pay directly because once the AliPay app was a bit slow when i want to pay something.
