I think now engine dies is ok. But press more before let go the clutch.
It's ok to let the engine roar a bit, but dont let go the clutch quickly. do it slow and steady.

although there's gonna be hundreds of eyes looking at you, dont panic nor be overconfident. on slope test dont hesitate to smoke the wheels.

On road test pulak, u smart smart lo cos sometimes they will trick u simply ask u potong kereta, laju sikit, red light jalan saja .. n etc etc

Dun worry much dude. Slow and steady i remember last time when i was doing my road test. Drove out only for 15 mins then the JPJ guys ask me u know how to drive? I said yes then he say ok drive back. Then pass. Good luck dude. Sleep early tonite ok?

Just drive smoothly and not too fast would be ok. I was lucky to get an officer who was on the phone the whole trip

PS. If its lunchtime and he asks u to drive faster so that he can makan his lunch, do follow his advice or face the consequences

sit at the chair and let other ppl do the test 1st...

The crappy car had a lousy gearbox tho, it wouldn't shift well, ended up with my engine dying once.
Lost bout 2 points there. After that didnt dare change gear liao. Then lost 1 more point coz "tidak menggunakan gear sesuai untuk kelajuan"

the tidak menggunakan gear sesuai untuk kelajuan is bullocks 1 ler...I can take the turn at 4th gear, and that fellar also minus 1 point there, supposed to be in 3rd, stupid....

I never finished my road test coz the day I took the test was early Friday and by the time its my turn it was almost Friday prayers. To elak all the jam since the route will be around a Mosque, the JPJ guy just said make a U-turn and we're done. And we're just went out on the road!

Result = I passed with some point minused because of earlier mistake before starting. Hill test and such got free points.

Btw, this is the road test. Not the one at the compund.

took my test 8 years ago. used to have a driving license when i was in singapore..........the cops there took that away from me:-P did not bribe, all went well in the circuit, but when we went on the road, the gut tried to ask for a bribe, me being singaporean and all........... so i did what i do best...........went to an open carpark, handbrake turn, flicking and sliding the slk all over the place, that guy in the car was shitting bricks:-) end of the day, he asked me where i learned all those moves........... told him of my rallying history in singapore and he passed me:-)

Many years ago, I was about to be tested for emergency brake on my 500 cc Norton going downhill. They had 2 testers standing apart in the middle for different learners. Mine was a male(nearest) , the other a lady. He kept making signs for me to go faster when I was at about 70 kph. He signalled lated and I jammed my brakes. The back wheel was sliding left and right and gave smoke of burning rubber and I was heading straight to the lady. Those at the side of the roads were screaming and the lady was looking at me shocked with mouth opened. At the last moment I released my brakes and swerved avoiding the lady tester.
My tester shouted and scolded at me for releasing my brakes. I argued saying I would've whacked that lady. I argued and asked me to do another one. I passed and that lady stood at the roadside, stopping the test for her candidates. Later he asked me what speed I was travelling and told him I hit the brakes the speed was about 80 kph. "Y, so fast?" "I was constant at 60 but you still make sign for me to faster and faster" " Didnt look that fast compared to these cubs going at 50" Then he was laughing.

In JPJ road test, i drove 60kmh at 5th gear. Izzit the correct gear?

I mati engine 4 times when doing reverse side parking... !!!

LOL.. If u talking inside JPJ test? I was too nervous and did my parking and 3 point turn with my hand brakes on ^^ Luckily din mati engine. Just realised I had the brakes on during stop at hill slope.

DON'T DO THE SAME MISTAKE XD

me too, doing the 3 point turn with handbrake on. I forgot to release the handbrake after my reverse side parking. After the 3 point turn and return to base, i finally noticed i have my handbrake on.

And i did wheelspins and fabricate loud exhaust noise when doing the slope test.

Wheelspin is for noobs. Try doing that at peak hour on LDP uphill junction (such as federal turning to sunway)..confirm BANG (car) then BANG (road bully whack you)

Sigh, there is always at least 1 person would post such post like the above. Noob this noob that, wheelspin is for noob, automatic transmission is for a sissy driver and what not.....oh well, can't blame ya....immature posting

If they do that in a peak houred LDP, its their problem if they can't master it, nothing got to do with JPJ driving test at all.....

We need to press the accelerator hard at the slope coz if we didn't, the probability to roll back will be higher with the crap kancil car they provided.

One of my fren who didn't do that hard, resulting the crap car to roll back hence fail. It is not entirely relate to skill of the driver but the condition of the car. He did it well with the driving school practice car but not the crap test car.

The condition of the test car is totally crap for ur info.

Please lah, every1 is not as dumb as you think they are, so don't act like some pro and blaming ppl noob and this and that. You think every1 can master that easily at first?

Well, for the hill there's a technique that'll assure a 100% pass if you know how to do it. After u pull your parking brakes and the JPJ guy asks you to proceed, just step a lil bit on the accelerator, then slowly release the clutch till you feel the car jerking forward, then just step some more on the accelerator and release the parking brakes and ......

normally they wont even look when you park what..since ure alone in the car..no reason to feel 'cuak'

That's why. If we do it slowly the car will 100% move forwards even if its condition is crappy. And YET we still see people's cars rolling back helplessly. Wrong technique? Or simply the nerves.

Technique is correct, just wrong amount of pressure on both the accelerator and clutch, thats all. Some of them, when the car jerks, at that point of time, their amount of pressure on the accelerator will be light, that is why they tend to mati engine and slide down.

But some cars are different, it seems that you haven't experienced it yet

Cut the crap, I am just giving a real life example - isn't it once you pass the P license you'll be driving around? Quote where I said HIGHWAY TEST specifically then. Level of understanding = -ve infinity. That also cannot comprehend. Wheelspin any old car also can do lah. I don't drive a myvvi, i drive a myvi, can wheelspin anytime if i wanted on 1st. Even a datsun 120Y also can wheelspin up to 2nd gear la. Can't even spell properly want to teach people england.

I say its for noobs because they have not been taught the technique properly by their instructors. It is not recommended to balance up there without the handbrake. Once the car is parked on the slope and shifted (clutch pressed in) in 1st gear, u just need to apply moderate amounts of throttle (not excessive till the rubber burn out as if its a drift event), engage clutch [engagement point is when the front of the dips a little after some point], and release handbrake (while maintaining power to the engine). The car will definitely go up and not roll back. In short u just need enough Petrol, engage Clutch, pop the handBrake. (PCB).

PS. Clutch balancing is defined as holding a car using the slippage of the clutch so that the car is stationary/accelerates uphill. Clutch engagement is defined as engaging the clutch properly using a lil bit of gas and engaging clutch slowly so as not to mati engine dramatically.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooob, I've probably been driving manual trannys before you even got your license. My first car was a manual NPS. My second is also a manual NPS (sold). My 3rd is a manual PS. PS. I dun change cars. I keep them working. Unlike you. Clutch plates wear off faster in my case, all lasted 150k km before they start slipping. Bearing - since you're opening up the engine might as well change both as well.
