To start with, I owned an SLi notebook. Trust me, PhotoShop doesnt utilize gpu that much. For photoshop-ing and stuff like that, u will need better processor and RAM. What i will suggest get the best processor u can and the best RAM u can. Dont trust me? Head to notebookforums.com where every notebooks include the fastest notebook in the world owners are also there. If theirs lappies limited to some level of multi-tasking and performance, so why wouldnt other lower-level lappies? From the gpu related with PhotoShop, I ask some ppl at SLizone.com and ask if gpu affects as much as proc for photoshop, most of em answered it might affect abit, but proc plays much more important role for that specific purposes.
Added on July 13, 2007, 8:56 pmFor Vista tho, u need dedicated gpu to utilize all dx10 features. U can read more in some mags this month about how is Vista (dx10) useful for non-gamers. Is it just game that utilize dx10? Will Intel's X3100 will be enuf?
the answer will be too long for me to type here but basically having dedicated gpu does help for that purpose especially with the first full dx10 graphics for mobile enthusiasts -
8700M GT.
but every each of us have budget that limits our wants, so ..
Of coz having better gpu, proc, amount of ram will have advantages and affect our overall lappies but not all of us can afford it.
