Mind asking if 1520 comes with built-in webcam. This is an optional accessory right?

Software investment isn't so affordable for an average Joe/Jane in Malaysia.

I'm using Home & Student 2007 as it's still within my budget. If it's out of my budget, no choice but to go with the alternative one, the ori one doesn't come cheap.

You meant on your current new laptop?

For me, it's still a little expensive.

Yeap, it comes with Home & Student 2007. Actually I don't want to include it one but no choice, there isn't any option for that.

I remembered now. You bought a Performance 1520 and that's why it comes with Office Home & Student 2007.

How's this office suite? Is the same as the Professional version?

Any stripped features on the MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint?

I think MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint is the same, just that Home & Student 07 doesn't have Outlook with Business Contact Manager/Publisher/Access.

Outlook/Publisher/Access are not that useful for an average home user or Student. That's pretty make sense.

I don't use Outlook till I started to work. Last time, I think Outlook Express that comes with IE5/6 is pretty handy and did its job well.

tslim2531, how much is your 1420 with Celeron M?

I checked the site and the spec is very very basic and if I customized to meet my 1520 spec (excluding 2GB RAM and 256MB NVIDIA GPU), the price is touching RM 3k.

I don't think that there is any model of 1520 that comes with Celeron M. Mine (My brother's) 1420 was ordered on 12 July. The spec are followed :-

1. INTEL CELERON M 540(1.86 Ghz, 1MB Cache, 533 Mhz FSB)
2. 1GB(2x512MB) 667 DDR2 RAM
3. Genuine Windows Vista Basic
4. 14.1" Widescreen WXGA (1280x800) Display with TrueLife (LG PHILIPS LCD PANEL)
5. 80GB SATA Hard Disk (TOSHIBA)
6. 8X DVD Writer (OptiArc/NEC)
7. Intel Integrated GMA X3100
8. 6-Cell battery
9. Jet Black Colour and NO camera
10. Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 wireless mini card
11. Targus Pulse II Nylon BackPack
12. 1 year limited warranty

COST : RM 2377.00 (free delivery)

I know 1520 doesn't come with Celeron M variant.

I was trying to configure a 1420 with Celeron M with other hardware almost similar to my 1520 - 1GB RAM, 128MB dedicated NVIDIA GPU, Wireless N module, Vista Home Premium,True Life LCD, DVD burner, Midnight Blue with built-in webcam, Nylon Backpack, 90W Primary power adaptor and etc.

Complete cover is a service not a hardware. I thought you can claim for rebate if the hardware price drops.
