QUOTE(skevelim @ Jul 18 2007, 11:12 PM) so you successfully install XP Pro into your laptop? I heard a lot of ppl can't install XP Pro in other laptop brand,ex: Asus, Acer.... Had a few run ins but so far so good....there are 2 ways of doing it....install XP pro THEN vista the hard and problematic way is other way round. In terms of games, on Vista it ran a bit sluggish...that's y i installed xp |

QUOTE(tslim2531 @ Jul 19 2007, 10:13 AM) I'm facing the problem with the sound driver with the XP. the sound driver for the 1520 model is SigmaTel STAC 92XX C-Major HD Audio (Rev:A03) Try this....http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/...I've found quite a lot of driver but it all fails. It states "Device Object not present, restart the system and run the setup again". And other will finish off installation and state "Audio maintenance completed successfully", but still after restart, Still no sound. SIGMATEL !!! How come the audio driver so difficult to configure????? |

QUOTE(kimhoong @ Jul 22 2007, 05:42 PM) After few days playing around with my gf's pinky 1520, I think it's a great lappy with high value for money Yeah, my major "unhappiness" comes from the screen only.....yours is dim? mine is extremely bright!! However, I have some complaint on the screen. First, it is dim. Second, the viewing angle is too narrow. I wonder if it is the TrueLife's problem i think in the BIOS you could set it a notch higher. My problem is the bleeding from the bottom....kinda annoying. it's ok inside games. |

I have a 1520 with 9-cell batt....which usually lasts me 4+ hours with bright settings and little gaming.
I usually set to High Performance power option when plugged in. |
