Any device is considered to be connected to the router when it has been assigned the IP, usually done via DHCP2. What is the main reason, because of 802.11 Ac ? But honor 9 lite also equipped with 802.11 Ac.

Unfortunately if the router settings are not done correctly, this IP assignment might be slow even failed. This has something to do with the way the OS is programmed, and its more of an Android problem than phone model problem
Another option would be to use a laptop running windows to mark your attendance
