Pity the workers but they should know the way these govt contracts work. Overinflated prices, pay a few few billion to middleman UPFRONT and leave normal Malaysian to pick up the tab. And like highway concessionaire, if volume low next time govt (Malaysians) have to pay compensation

Public projects margin usually hovers around 30% or so.
LGE comes in negotiations, MMC can reduce 23% of project costs.
If LGE gets it done even cheaper by another 20% via new tender, I tell u someone will kana MACC

Gamuda refused to budge. Gomen then no choice but to terminate the contract and open tender to someone else. Who knows, maybe someone else will do it cheaper.

As for the workers, get this straight... no one owes u a living, be it gomen or employer. Just because u bought a new car or house, doesn't mean both parties need to compensate u right?

But being in the construction for so many years, any under budgeted project tend to be either delayed or fill with quality problem.

I guess MMC Gamuda created lots of fake workers to assist Najib to siphon money.

What utter bullshit. Most of the highly skilled engineers working for the underground package come from kampungs? Urban engineers should be pissed off for not getting such highly paid jobs.
