I am reconsidering my initial plan do a 11 ft x 9 ft extension for a dining room.

Instead, thinking to sacrifice Bedroom 2 for a dining area. The door for bedroom 2 is slightly facing the WC 2 door, so thinking to brick up Bedroom 2 door and do an open archway at the center of the wall side. What do you guys think? is it worthwhile or just place the dining table towards inside rather than near the window? What is the estimate cost of this job?

What is the rough cost to extend a smaller area 4 ft x 5 ft as laundry room?




Also for a cluster house, is it I can only extend up and erect brick fence till the red line, before the drain? Or am I allowed to close the drain and build nearer to the wire mesh fence. With gutter so that rainfall doesn't enroach neighbour side.

i would like to extend my new house backyard 20 x 8 feet ground floor only, how much does it cost for the all the work ( wet/dry work ) ?

Saw my neighbour doing this, which is almost the same as my initial extension idea. The size should be about 10 ft x 11 ft but this one the roof appears to be quite tall, maybe 12 feet? Anyone is the industry can estimate what is the cost for this size of extension?

Interesting enough, almost all neighbours who did extension build the wall up till the boundary fence, meaning over the drain (Post 639). This is in contrary to what the Majlis Bandaraya staff told me when I inquire about setbacks for cluster house. She said cannot go beyond the drain. Oddly enough, all my neighbours hang the bunting showing that they have applied and received permit. So did the Bandaraya staff gave me wrong info?

Finally met with my contractor to discuss on the reno stuffs. The catch is, he said I need to apply permit on my own. Anyone has experience applying permit as an owner? What document that I need to bring? Many  thanks

Without roro bin. CCC is Borang F? Already have borang F given by developer. Yeah no engineer drawing. I think the company is more of a consultant, not an architect.

Another thing to ask, is it safe to make full payment to the consultant during signing the documents? What is the standard practice ya? Let's say the application failed, usually will the consultant reapply or the money just gone like that?

Looking on some pointers if I am being overcharged (too much). I am being quoted RM 5,000 for labour and material to replace the piping in my condo (25 year old) with 25mm diameter PPR surface mounting only, with no removal of existing piping.

Condo size is 960 square feet, roughly square, so the dimensions is shorter than my sketch (sketch is half the unit layout, so probably 10 m long by 4.5 m wide in reality).

The quoted works are for entry from water meter (WM) to Master Bath (MBWC) 1 = 4 Point, Middle Bath (MWC) 2 = 4 Point, Dry Kitchen 1 Point, Wet Kitchen 1 Point, Washing Machine (WM) = 1 Point. Layout should be roughly 2 main branches as per sketch, with water meter at bottom left.

No plaster ceiling, it is painted concrete. Will be doing surface mounting of new pipes to minimise hacking and cost.
