Hi Guys, As usual my router is the Dlink DIR-850L and I've been upgraded to 500mbps. Been getting download speed of 190~250mbps over Wi-fi (5ghz) with my note 8 (standing right next to the router). If i move further away, the download speed dropped till about 100mbps With Lan Cat5E + laptop i was able to achieve 480mbps. Called Time and the customer sevice guy advised me to redeem the free TP-Link AC1200 router from selfcare.time.com.my and it can help me achieve better WIFI speed. I am wondering if this TP-Link AC1200 would make any difference to my WIFI speed? If the difference is very small, I dont think its worthwhile for me to redeem it as there will be a 24-month contract renewal. Any advice guys? QUOTE(LeChuCk @ Oct 7 2018, 11:25 PM) The dlink 850L is also ac1200, similar to the tplink..no diff in my opinion unless u get the ac2000+ or ac3200 routers Thanks for your reply bro. Anyway, the product features of the tplink ac1200 says it has "Achievable speeds of up to 450Mbps over WiFi." Wonder how accurate is this.

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Oct 7 2018, 11:29 PM) Nope. It won’t. Check the link on my signature for list of compatible routers. You should get the C2300 for the chance of getting 500Mbps. Yep, check the router to see if you have set your LAN port to 1000Mbps manually. See page 55: https://4amlxms1bqq223a181oxyv35-wpengine.n..._2.00_EN_US.pdfThanks for your reply bro. If i purchase the C2300 myself, I wouldn't know how to set up the router. Is there a guide somewhere for me to refer to for installation/set up?

See page 55: https://4amlxms1bqq223a181oxyv35-wpengine.n..._2.00_EN_US.pdfHi SilentVampire, Thanks for your recommendation for the C2300. However, since we can get a D-Link DIR-882 from Time for only RM550 and free installation, should I get this DIR-882 instead of the C2300? In your list of compatible routers, you have listed the D-Link DIR-882 can achieve up to 800mbps but the product features in Time selfcare only shows "Achievable speeds of up to 500Mbps over WiFi". (please refer to attachment). What is your take on this bro? Sorry for asking noob questions as I just want to make sure I am making the right decision before pulling the trigger. Just installed D-Link DIR-882 yesterday. Did some speedtest with my Note 8 Highest DL Speed Standing Right Next to the Router: 485mbps In another Room 10meters away (Note 8): 310mbps In another Room 10meters away (HP PC with Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168): 230mbps Previously using DIR-850.....i would say DIR-882 is a huge improvement. However, I'm wondering how come my HP PC can only achieve 230mbps, whereas my note 8 can go above 300mbps at the same spot? Any advice? Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(CloudComputer @ Oct 20 2018, 04:49 PM) Your Note 8 support wireless AC MU-MIMO VHT80 & 1024QAM, I guess much better than your HP PC, PC is normally having very low tech on wireless. It's actually an All-in-One. I guess its more like a laptop, then a desktop.

Hi Guys, Time is currently offering this omnimesh. I am currently using D-Link DIR-882 AC2600. (I'm on 500mbps package) Wifi speed is just average. Will this Omnimesh setup improve my wifi speed? Thanks in advance for your advice. This post has been edited by tango1800: Dec 9 2020, 05:30 PM

I've been a loyal TIME subscriber for almost 10 years. I am now paying RM139 (excluding SST) for 500mbps, and they recently boosted to 600mbps for free (which I do not need)
However, I also found out that there are some TIME subscribers who are paying RM109 for 300mbps, and they were boosted to 500mbps for free recently Hence, I called Time and requested them to match this offer - RM109 for 500MBS, they told me there is no such thing and they refused to match this offer. The manager by the name of S***** sounded quite cocky. I told her I have proof (official time invoice) to show that there are indeed people paying 109 for 500mbps and then she backtracked and told me some nonsense stories about some contract bullshit.
Instead, they offered me to downgrade my plan to 200mbps for RM99.
I am really disappointed with how they treat their loyal customers like this by prioritising newer customers with lower prices.

QUOTE(mercindustries @ Apr 23 2024, 01:48 PM) 300mbps offer was only given to selected people back some time ago (iirc loyalty bonus) and not a normal offering. I actually upgraded to the package for 6 months and downgraded back to 100mbps and never got the offer back ever since. Ok but why only for selected customers? Isnt that unfair practices?
