Hi guys, just subscribed to new TIME Broadband 500mbps. Thye gave wireless router archer c1200.
Few questions :

(i) to change new IP address, what is the fastest way? reboot in admin page?
(ii) for speed test through wifi: ipv4 i got around 40Mbps and ipv6 got around 351Mbps.. Is this normal for 500mbps package?

if there is any suggestion settings to improve performance, pls advice..tqvm

1. Download the "Tether" app, add the router and you can do reboots from your phone without having to login every time. Or logon using browser, disconnect and reconnect.

2. Not normal.. IPv4 and IPv6 don't affect internet speed so drastically. But is it normal to get 351Mbps speeds over wifi? That depends on then network load at time of testing, router and if the receiving device is actually capable of attaining full 500Mbps speeds. Try moving closer to the router and connecting to the 5Ghz band. But all in all the C1200 isn't a decent router for such consistent performance over Wi-Fi.

So bro, you meant Ipv4 i can get speed closely to Ipv6 speed also? i have tested many times..really ipv4 just around 40-70mpbs, if ipv6 around 250-350mbps...big diff..tested using same phone..whats the problem here actually? router problem or TIME stability in my condo ? confused.gif

good morning. This sounds like a weird problem. I haven't encountered this before and I only use IPV4. Since you can actually register 3xx mbpbs speeds I assume you're on an AC-capable device. What does a wired connection say?

Thanks for the replied bro.

Ya, I tested wired connection, can reach until 500mbps..
So in summary:

(i) Wired : 500mbps
(ii) Ipv6 5ghz wifi : 300mbps
(iii) Ipv4 2.4ghz wifi: 40-60mbps

So , is this normal? or Ipv4 2.4ghz wifi connection got problem? I already try change to less congestion channel..but still the same result..changed to google dns also same.. confused.gif confused.gif

Hi, you can't 100% get rid of the intermittent connection drop issue as it is due to the buggy firmware.
Anyway you can only reduce it. Make sure you are if you are on Hardware v1.0
, the firmware must be upgraded to Build 20180502 rel.45702 (official)

You may upgrade your firmware here at https://time.com.my/updatemytplink
If you are having difficulty getting from the auto upgrade link above, feel free to just drop me an email at support@timefibre.com

Thanks.

My current firmware version is already Build 20180502 rel.45702 since day 1 TIME activated which is 2 weeks ago..
But everyday the router still auto reboot 1-2 times, :-(
If this is the bug, why no body solve it and release more stable firmware? TP Link site no body know how to solve it? Quite disappointed..
