hi all, my condo unit is dual key (2 separate compartments), both areas got their own fibre socket point,

im not familiar with all these, im thinking if i apply already, can i have 1 router for each compartment? so the usage will not be affected by each other, lets say A turn off the router, B still got access to internet because got own router

or can only have 1 main router?

thank you so much!

dual key unit

photo from google search, something like this, but both compartments got their own fibre socket point, so wonder whether each compartment can have their own independent router or there need to have 1 compartment to serve as main router..

Hi, I assume you only want to apply a single line, you will need to check the fibre drawings to see how are these 2 fibre cables being deployed in your house.
If it's 2 isolated cables routed to the telephony Riser, then you cannot achieve what you intended to do.

Try to check & feel free to text me, will assist you further smile.gif

Thanks.

yes i only want to apply a single line, if it's 2 isolated cables, can the installer like tapped both cables into 1 port in the "control room"? so like internet coming out from 1 port can supply to 2 separate fibre socket (like electric cable, electricity from a single cable split into 2 cables), then both areas can have their independent modem and router, not affected by each other.

i am not familiar with all these sad.gif sweat.gif

thank you thumbsup.gif

hi guys, currently my unit is using the huawei 2in1 stock router, the signal is terrible in another corner of the unit, planning to buy huawei ax3 quad core to improve the situation.

but currently tenant is staying inside the unit, once i call the cs to change the stock router to bridge mode, would it be changed immediately or within few hours? cause i see previous post stated it may take 2 to 3 days..

once it is on bridge mode means no internet connection right? i am thinking of how to do it so it brings the least inconveniency to my tenants..

any suggestion please? thank you!

my experience was within 15mins end to end.. most time spend waiting for CS to come online.
They will ask u whether u already configured your router with credentials and plugged in before they "flip the switch"

a. connect the ax3 wan with huawei v5 port1
b. then call cs to change v5 to bridge mode
c. only take like 15 minutes to change right?
d. i see the ax3 booklet said go 192.168.3.1 for setting?
e. then key in the pppoe details which can be found in time selfcare? xxx@timebb & password?
f. then done right?

why ax3 pro cannot have own ssid under repeater mode? so for the repeater mode, ax3 pro acts as a mesh node like that?

cannot understand, cause i have tp link wifi repeater, i can set another ssid for devices to connect it.

but for ax3 pro, how we know whether our devices connected direct to modem or connected to ax3 pro? cause the ssid same name only...

previous contract rm20 off per month expiring soon, called them to renew, they said the only available renew offer now is rm10 off per month for 12 months contract, is this the best offer? or retention team offers something better?
