my time is using 2in1 Huawei HG8145V5

i managed to change HG8145V5 WAN to Bridge
setup external router (tplink ax20) as Router. entered PPPoE details. but cant seem to connect.

any other settings that i need to be aware of?

already did those, i got the TELECOMADMIN access to modify these directly

1) huawei changed mode to BRIDGE
2) huawei disabled wifi
3) tplink changed mode to ROUTER
4) tplink entered xxx@timebb / pppoe password

seems like tplink cannot get connected to timebb.


do i need to change VLAN to 499 too?

same, already setup cloudfare dns in tplink too

the video is for the generic ont unit, not suitable for 2-in-1 unit like HG8145V5.

sorted it out, but kinda weird

1) called TIME CS to assist. later TIME called back to verify my info and updated my HG8145V5 directly. CS said they just change the mode to BRIDGE.

2) i login to HG8145V5 to see what were changed. they removed the INTERNET WAN profile entirely, just left VOIP profile there. Meaning, previously i changed ROUTER > BRIDGE mode is useless cuz HG8145V5 still having INTERNET profile?

3) try using tplink to login pppoe. still not working. Orange LED for WAN, refuse to connect.

4) finally, did a hardware reset for tplink (factory reset). Quick setup using TIME pppoe credentials. Success!

I just got upgrade offer from 100mbps @ rm99 to 300mbps @ rm109

got mesh router too. need to do site installation.

note: just about 1yr tenure with TIME.

Time 300mbps upgrade offer for 2yrs for RM109/mth

forgot to ask cs, after 2yrs, what will be the price? maintain 109/mth too?


p/s: WA8021V5 sucks. since it's a wifi relay, wifi dropped to 50+mbps only. if connect direct to router, can get near 200+mbps when about 10feet again (in a room). donno why they give offer it. i

I was told it will revert back to original 300mbps price after 24mths (ie rm20 discount canceled after 24 cycles)

as per mentioned by CS, we can downgrade to lower plan also.

depends on our needs for higher or lower plan

weird self care portal

mine originally 300mbps @ rm109 (promo)

last week showed 500mbps, but speed profile still 300mbps

This week portal showed 600mbps, again speed not upgraded yet (will wait till end Apr)

seems like Time forgotten 500mbps was upgraded from 300mbps. somehow they upgraded it again to 600mbps.

to be confirmed on the speed after upgrade exercise. now, speedtest still 300mbps.


**correction... 500mbps shown in self-care web portal. 600mbps shown in self-care app.

**update... after login web portal, app showed 500mbps back. confusing...

gotten email upgrade to 500mbps (from 300mbps)

speed test still 3xx/3xx Mbps

restarted router and btu, same.

maybe gotta wait a bit.
