Hi , im new to here.
Wanted to ask , my apartment currently got TIME Fiber installed (Official coverage map didn't show yet but i saw the TIME fiber boxes already).
I currently have TM Unifi contract for 11 month left , if i switch to TIME fiber 500Mbps Plan , can TIME pay for my unifi contract penalty first (It doesn't matter TIME ties me to 24 month contract im ok with that)?
If can how can i apply?
I got stucked unifi 50mbps and paying rm137 per month zzzzzzz
(TM says they also coming in with FTTH but currently i saw TIME already install infra only)

Almost full speed

Just one question , can i change the DNS of the given Huawei HG8145V5 ONT? It seems to be hardcoded to TIME DNS server and intercepting the DNS request via UDP 53 from any DNS server (etc Google & Cloudflare , both replied a TM IP and apparently its MCMC IP)

To add to that, not just hard-coded, hijack too on port 53.

Change the DNS on your device, it's gonna get hijacked back to TIME DNS. Have to use DNS Over HTTPS.
*
yes , even u test with a fake IP Address for DNS they will also response the corresponding IP address from TIME DNS Server
WTF

Seems like TIME rerouted the traffic to certain China Unicom IP Range
Example : China Unicom Guangzhou
157.255.70.65
Last time is direct one from TIME - Singtel - China Unicom Guangzhou resulting almost 100-110ms only
Now they reroute and route via TATA SG - TATA JP - TATA US - CU US - CU CN resulting >200ms
user posted image
As you can see from the smokeping result , it resulting a 300-400ms latency and 10% packet loss at the time

same as China Unicom Shanghai

Certain IP range of China Unicom like China Unicom HeBei still remain same routing via Singtel , although theres some packet loss and ping spike on night but overall the performance is better than routing via TATA US !

user posted image

anyway to report this problem to TIME CS or directly create a report on MCMC portal?

Hi,
I've just got Time 500mbps at my place. The  modem/router  given was the huawei hg8145v5. But I intend to use my old Asus router. any steps to make the huawei work as modem only and let the Asus as router (lan and wifi). Thanks!
*
call CS or live chat CS to change your Huawei Modem to bridge mode (this will shut down the routing function in huawei modem)
Make sure you have your PPPoE credentials before you proceed with this change
After that , plug LAN cable from Huawei LAN 1 to ur Asus WAN and setup your Asus router with the PPPoE credentials given and u should fine to use it after setup
If ask anything about VLAN just untick /ignore it in the router
You should get connected after key in the correct credentials

*
if ur DHCP side can manually set DNS or pppoe side can manually assign DNS and yes it can change
if cannot contact time cs and ask , if they say cannot then u hv to use another router

How's the service quality of the Time Fibre Broadband ? Better than Maxis/UniFi ?
*
for customer service experience , at least they know what I'm talking about regarding those routing problem
Internet experience :
Installed since May 2021 , only experienced twice downtime
The first one has scheduled downtime for software maintenance or something i get the email before 1 week
The second time is suddenly downtime at 12.48AM if im not mistaken (But I already sleep that day so i didn't feel any problem until i saw my telegram bot warn me my house server is not responding and recovered at second day)

user posted image

So far so good , 500Mbps plan , never get throttled
The only bad thing if i wanted to say about time is : china isp routing (unifi abit worst than time on this)

Hey bro, do you have a workaround yet on this issue?

I'm having this issue particularly when connecting to Oceanic servers i.e. Australia (Gaming to Australia server).

TIME keeps rerouting my connection from MY - SG - Somewhere Taiwan/Hong Kong/Netherlands - then back to Oceanic.

Which by right should be MY - SG - Direct to Oceanic.

I've sent a CHAIN OF EMAILS & TICKETS to TIME CS, but they haven't solved it, I've been chasing since September 2021.

Until now, never being solved, email not replied.

Shit CS. Feel like reporting this to MCMC and changing back to other ISP. Paid so much but having shit routing service.

If anyone here can help me to escalate this issue, please do tell.

I have a plethora of emails, traceroutes and tickets/replies from the game developer I can attach here for reference.

Created a ticket about this issue :

then no reply at all

already give up , just luckily their routing is not that bad as TM
maybe u can try MCMC , will try soon if i catch another routing that giving me packet loss over 10%

I see, you gave up eh..

Will it work if i want to terminate early contract due to this issue?

Will i get penalized for terminating early?

I want to change to other ISP
*
ofc yes u will get penalized for terminating early due to this issue

i still not yet proceed to make complaint on MCMC , may consider this if i experience the SAME problem AGAIN (so far so good)

Previously they have asked WINMTR from my PC to the IP address im having trouble routing with which I have provided them.

So now they want something called "reverse traceroute"

Do you/ any TIME internet experts have any idea what it means?

Here's the original email:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TIME CS via freshdesk.com
2:36 PM (17 minutes ago)
to me

Hi XXXXX,

Thanks for the trace route WinMTR from TIME (My home internet) to Blizzard's oceanic server (IP : 103.4.115.248)

As per update from our upstream partner, please provide the reverse trace route for further investigation to isolate if routing in symmetrically routed.

Thank you.

Hey bro & @saltykopi

FYI I have been following up with TIME CS from September 2020 already about their routing issue,

30+ email chains, but still haven't solved.

The culprit is their peer partner which is Telstra Network (From what I have discovered, in my case at least).

They are rerouting network unnecessarily instead of routing direct from point A to B.

Example : I want to connect from MY to Australia.

But what the routing did was MY - HK - Phillipines - Back to SG - Australia.

Which as a result create very high ping.

This issue happened starting around September 2021 I believe, before that was just fine.

Of course VPN works well, but who would want to pay for VPN when the ISP itself (TIME) should be able to give proper routing service.

Maybe if someone here working with TIME, please raise this issue, I as a TIME user feel cheated with this kind of routing service.

I'm really disappointed with TIME now.
*
The ultimate solution : report to MCMC
I already give up to tell them reroute China Telecom route (you want see how bad TIME to China Telecom? Well
MY - JP - US - CN , 200+ms , 400+ms for peak and 10%+ packet loss, China Telecom uses NTT Japan from CN - JP - MY , so the problem either is TIME side or China Telecom side , but they should communicate and solve this issue)
And last time every night 100ms+ from TIME KUL to TM KUL with 10%+ packet loss

Hey bro,

So I did opened a ticket on MCMC, WOW the response from TIME was fast ha ha ha.

But unfortunately, still my routing issue (ping/latency from MY to Oceanic servers) is not fixed.

I just tested earlier, ping from MY to the Oceanic server, using TIME's routing is 250ms.

Using VPN's routing is a smooth 100MS.

I'm gonna create a shitstorm through MCMC.

Piece of shit routing service given by TIME.
*
just spam them and tell them u wont close this ticket if they never fix the routing for you
can have a try maybe?

btw expecting 4 Feb 2022 TIME will have serious congestion towards TM network , this is why:

Who TF is going to watch the Olympics??? Serioulsy?  hmm.gif

Anyway, bad routing - it seems like routing to most IPs that are important to me are experiencing heavy package loss.

Using WinMTR and checking for a while here some examples of where the problems seem to appear:

- AS6453 Tata Comm. (major packet loss in Singapore & France)
user posted image

- Twelve99 (major packet loss in UK)

- Zayo (major packet loss mainly in UK)

Surely not a complete picture of course, but it was not that bad a week ago... OR am I seeing this all wrong?  unsure.gif

*
TIME default give public IP
but they got block some port iinm
SSH 22
SMTP 25

HTTP 80 & HTTPS 443 are not blocked atm and i don't think they will block (Except for MCMC want to do same like China)
