Just switched to TIME 2 days ago. After using it for quite a while, I can't help but noticed that the overall browsing experience isn't as snappy compared to unifi with lower speeds.

I was given the Echolife modem/router combo. Is there any common optimization configs that I should do to make things snappy?

Yes, the common optimization is to buy your own router and turn the existing fiber modem/router combo into bridge mode.

After using TIME for about a week, it's safe to say that it's been lackluster. The stability of the router was pretty bad, there are frequent micro disconnects (I think WiFi was disconnecting intermittently but it wasn't shown on logs).

The ping wasn't as snappy.... Perhaps a new router would fix this?

Yes I was using the provided Huawei all in one modem router and had same issue. Best get your own wifi router. Then call customer service to ask them set for u. The huawei thing need to be changed to modem only mode before u can start using your own wifi router.

Have to ask them to set up the router for me or just ask them to configure the huawei shit to modem only mode?

Oh also remind them to switch off the wifi on the huawei thing when they on call with u. Last time they help me configure didn't switch its wifi off.

Chat with them on website faster. Btw their customer support won't know how de, neeed escalate to second level team.

Thanks, I managed to figure it out. Had to flash the TIME firmware downloaded from the TP LINK Malaysia website. Flashed it and it's all good to go.

Just got my "mesh" network configured by TIME. It was done with 2x HG8145X6 routers.

1 x became the main router
1 x became the AP

Once everything was configured, I wanted to turn off all 2.4g as it's not necessary. I connected through 192.168.100.1 and turned off the 2.4g wifi but I noticed that it's still being transmitted through the AP. I tried turning off the main router and connecting a PC to the AP via LAN but it wouldn't let me in.

I tried to turn off the 2.4g wifi via the main router, I unticked the 2.4g (refer to the screenshot) and clicked on apply but it pops back up. And I couldn't directly configure the AP as it wouldn't let me in. Any clues?

When the 2 units are meshed together, both bands are being utilized.
This is a bug, the 2.4GHz keeps coming back after a while even though you managed to turn it off.

Thanks! Finally, an explanation. I thought I was going mad and technically inept. Is there any known fix to this?
