you could notice the outage window is quite significant.

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Oct 5 2020, 12:14 AM) Does anyone knows their reliability around Taman Desa near Old Klang Road area?Some older posts in this thread suggested Time went down few times around July of last years, and for at least once lasted around 1-2 days, which worrying me quite a bit. I don't need blazing fast Internet, but I do need something stable, reliable for work. For last few years I've been mainly tethering from mobile Internet without fixed line, so I have not much clue about standard of fixed line Internet service in Malaysia nowadays. Installed 100Mbps today, so far so good.
Under Self-care > Diagnostic, it says my firmware is outdated, is it necessary to keep firmware updated to latest version? The EC230-G1 router is using firmware 1.0_191028.27089. However, I'm not sure whether the update is for the router or for the Huawei modem, the page doesn't mention what's the current version and the new version. It says the update may take up to 1 hour to complete, which is really long |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Oct 20 2020, 08:24 PM) ... I'm living in rented apartment, and obtained permission to drill a hole before start of installation. However... TIME installer ended up drilling three holes. For first two holes, positions chosen by installer have metal in the wall so driller cannot get through. I haven't inform landlord about the extra holes, not sure what will happen to my deposit True.... However, I can see renters being reluctant to poke holes in someone else’s wall. Later kena landlord/agent from hell.. Say bye bye to your deposit. I wonder is it common practice that wall drilling will be done on trial and error method? Is there a way to detect metal in wall? QUOTE(Candy12 @ Oct 22 2020, 09:55 PM) May I ask if this test was made from a Time Home Fibre line based in Northern Region/Penang or the Klang Valley? From KL.If from Penang then it's quite impressive to get 5ms ping rates to a server based in Shah Alam all the way from Penang which is around 360km in road distance. Disregard the Singtel results for the time being. Other Singaporean ISPs are also getting very high pings to reach them. Try these other Singaporean ISPs instead: This morning's result: speedtest.singnet.com.sg: 43ms www.speedtest.com.sg: 11ms speed.sg.m247.ro: 12ms speedtest-sgp.apac-tools.ovh: 12ms |

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Oct 22 2020, 10:05 PM) Hi, yes, normally our team will detect first before drilling...sometimes also based on experience, unfortunately not all SI has the metal detector. So installers are contractor rather than TIME staff... They did patch the holes, but three holes are definitely much more obvious than one. BTW, is good metal detector very expensive? Random prices from Google is only between $100 to $1000+.You may request the SI to patch up the drill holes with patch sealer. Thanks. Asking on behalf of future subscribers: 1. During registration, is it possible to request TIME to send only installer equipped with metal detector? Can customers reject the installation from proceed if installer don't have it, and request TIME to re-arrange? Having few thumb size hole patches on the wall for no purpose, I guess no property owner love to see that. 2. Shall there be unexpected damage caused by installation, who would bear the repair cost? Installer? TIME? Customer to absorb? Thank you. This post has been edited by Find The Way: Oct 23 2020, 10:26 AM |

@jjj2
I see. Thanks for sharing the info Sounds like the drilling issue is an unavoidable risk if following service provider's practice. This post has been edited by Find The Way: Oct 23 2020, 11:13 AM |

QUOTE(voncrane @ Oct 26 2020, 12:06 AM) ... Mine, the tiny hole in the doorway was done and sealed perfectly. The one between bedrooms? Not so much. But since it's behind a couch on one side and cabinetry on the other.. One can't tell it's there. So I'm happy. May I know how small are those holes drilled in your house? Mine is about thumb size, slightly larger than the hole for Astro antenna cable, I was quite surprise about this considering the fibre cable is so tiny.... QUOTE(tertiary @ Nov 12 2020, 08:53 AM) Is there some general international connection problem? Google Play Store cannot download and YouTube videos will not play, both with Time and Digi mobile. Some other websites loading alright. Yesterday (11/12) morning I was unable to play youtube video.Local connection is fine according to Ookla speedtest. EDIT: my friend on Maxis mobile has the same issue. Today youtube works fine, but few other websites that I visit regularly become unreachable. They all work fine on Hotlink mobile connection though. |
