QUOTE(jjj2 @ Mar 3 2022, 09:39 AM) Hi, X6 can be configured as a 2-in-1 (aka Fibre Modem + Router). Like your case, it can be also configured as an AP (should be called Router) by omitting the PON function, means you may have a HG8240H5 ONU paired with X6. Thanks. Hi jjj2, First of all, I'm not the person you replied the above to but your answer caught my attention. TIME currently offers the loyalty program (contract renewal) with Huawei HG8145X6. Would you happen to know, if I renew my contract, does TIME require to take back the current HG8240H ONU? I'm running a 3rd party router (MikroTik) but I don't mind getting the rebates and extra spare devices (Huawei HG8145X6/WA8021V5). Thanks in advance! QUOTE(darren_yuri @ Mar 14 2022, 11:56 AM) The current HG8240H ONU will be still served as the gateway. TIME will setup the HG8145X6 and one unit of WA8021V5. I have also just renewed my contract with HG8145X6. darren_yuri, Thanks for the info! Good to hear from someone with first hand experience. Guess I can just tell the installers that they don't need to configure the units when they bring the devices.

QUOTE(talexeh @ Mar 14 2022, 12:04 PM) Therefore, I'm confused if I'm still eligible for the loyalty program which allows me to upgrade to 300Mbps for RM109 & get a free mesh device. The banner is shown to me when I log into Self Care so I assumed I'm eligible but to be on the safe side, I tried to contact Time CS but no response on the Self Care live chat & FB while 1800-18-1818 is experiencing high call volume. I see this on the Add-ons

QUOTE(darren_yuri @ Mar 14 2022, 12:49 PM) Yeah I don't see a lot of people sharing their experience on the forum.. Good initiative to upgrade the router for my home, meanwhile also to keep users under their contract for longer period. Speed wise is satisfactory. But the thing is that the HG8145X6 provided by TIME is pretty much locked (obviously), so I have contacted the TIME to schedule another appointment to come over my house to modify the DNS settings on the HG8145X6. Do you see on your HG8145X6 if it allows access to backup configuration? I know they have to ability to lock access (not shown on the menu) to that page. Does anyone know the actual link (???.asp) to the backup and restore configuration page? Please share if you do. Hopefully it's accessible even though it's not displayed.

QUOTE(Sam Leong @ Mar 14 2022, 01:27 PM) just give a call to CS i think they can set it up remotely if u r directly using it as AIO modem + router then u might need to reconfigure the verification for ur ONU , for my case My area using password to verify , and the password is same with my PPPoE password I'll like to add in my 0.02 for this too. My ONT Authentication is the same as my PPPoE too. The ONT Authentication field is greyed out (can't change it) but able to unhide by unchecking the checkbox beside it.

QUOTE(darren_yuri @ Mar 14 2022, 05:58 PM) On the page, only showing Export Configuration File, Import Configuration File, and Restoring Factory Settings ahahaha I just want to try to modify the DNS only. maybe I can use the method previously shared by someone on previous page, but just worried it might brick the router. Export the config, change the DNS settings on that file and import the modified config back to the router. Highly unlikely it'll brick your router, unless you did weird stuffs with your modified config file.

QUOTE(Domeeneequec @ Mar 15 2022, 11:09 AM) About to get my wifi6 router upgrade for the 500mbps.. looks like there are a lot of issues reported by lowyat comrades here gg haha Renew your 500Mbps, get free router. You can decide to use it or not after testing it. If not good enough, use back your existing. Keep the free huawei as spare.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Mar 19 2022, 09:30 PM) Also Point C is currently only achieving 100Mbps despite being a belden CAT6 cable (trouble shooting needed).
Appreciate input. 1000BaseT requires all 4 pairs. Sounds like not all 4 pairs are properly terminated.

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Mar 24 2022, 07:50 AM) Just wanna say thanks for the tip. I checked and indeed the keystone was not properly terminated, I think 2 or 3 cores were disconnected from the pins. Re-attached and got my gigabit yay!

QUOTE(deejay5 @ Apr 12 2022, 03:24 PM) TIME, do they give you public IP and can you port forward port 80? before you start bashing me about port 80 security i have my reasons. Public IPv4 and IPv6. I haven't tried forwarding port 80 but all the other ports work so it should work.
