QUOTE(vickyrao @ Aug 28 2020, 09:58 AM) I am currently using 2-unit TP-Lin Deco M5 for my whole home coverage. I connected it via Cable. Every corner of my home, easily averages at 480mbps. .. Earlier my Mesh was running on wireless and stability is not great but still able to achieve average of 400mbps. But by having it on ethernet backhaul, the stability improved tremendously. And i use one of the port to split to a switch and connect my computer, laptop and printer on ethernet cable. I'd love to set up a wired gigabit ethernet backhaul between my deco m9plus units. Not an easy option, however

QUOTE(rickyro @ Aug 28 2020, 10:41 AM) So I'm guessing even getting 2xM9 PLUS connected wireless wouldnt help much to achieve 500mbps on 2nd node,i tried 2xM5 deco, i only get like 200mbps on the second node, which is no different than the 2nd node of my RE650, just that the RE650 takes a bit longer to switch between nodes 500mbps on the 2nd mesh node is probably not achievable. I'm getting around 250-300mbps on my 2nd m9+, located almost 10m from the main m9+ behind 1 thick wall.

QUOTE(Seng89 @ Jun 23 2021, 09:19 PM) Hi, actually I got survey but mostly ask me to get mesh E4 or M4 etc... I'm stuck btw mesh or router... Haiyo.. btw time doesn't provide any promotion upgrade package right ? Currently 100mbps and already finished contract. Thinking could get any better package etc.. M5 price quite hight. Budget around 300max. 😭😭😭 M9+ is arguably better than the M5. It's a tri-band Wifi 5 mesh product with its own separate radio band for mesh unit to mesh unit connections. Want mine? I only have 1 unit though as it's my backup in case my primary Asus Zenwifi XT8 mesh routers fail.

QUOTE(wirelessbuyer @ Jun 25 2021, 05:17 PM) Yes, most mesh nowadays do comes with 2 lan port or more on each mesh unit. You can use it to connect to your laptop to get internet. The best way to get stable and reliable speed is always via ethernet cable. But if that is not feasible, you can try mesh with wireless bakhaul, buy the tri-band model for the best result. Yeah a tri-band mesh solution really helps. Much better performance than powerline (AV1200) that i had some years before. I have a 500mbps internet plan. I previously used a tri-band TP-Link Deco M9+ mesh network setup (3 units). My PCs wired to the 2nd mesh unit in my study room would get around 250-300mpbs via speedtest.net. Wifi 5 coverage was good all around the home. Currently using a pair of tri-band Asus Zenwifi XT8 units. I can get full 500mbps on the study room PCs now. The wireless backhaul is a 160hz Wifi 6 (AX) connection. Wifi coverage and speeds are even better with Wifi 6. Expensive kit, though!

QUOTE(Heater8811 @ Jun 29 2021, 12:43 PM) Hi fellow TIME subs, need some clarification here. Been using TIME for more than a year, but yesterday hand itchy go and test the speed. I had 500Mbps subscription, but test from speedtest game me 235Mbps, fast.com gave me 180Mbps and TIME own speed test game me 215Mbps. Is this normal? edit: test using ori LAN cable straight to me desktop, not wifi. Tried rebooting your modem, router and computer? This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Jun 29 2021, 01:46 PM

QUOTE(Heater8811 @ Jun 29 2021, 04:09 PM) I did reset and restart everything, still the same result. But the speed was normal when download file from google drive tho. Don't know what gives, and not sure if any of it is a correct speed. But already contacted tech support, will check again on my side with their laptop soon. Do let us know how it goes. Thanks.

QUOTE(Heater8811 @ Jun 30 2021, 10:30 AM) I test again with different browser (Edge), previously was using FF. And the result is better than my subscribed speed. Which is good. Not sure why FF gave lower speed tho. Strange. I get about the same Fast.com speeds on both browsers. FF (v90) = 560 down, 520 up Edge (v91) = 540 down, 490 up Don't use Chrome though. Anyway, when I tested both my browsers with http://speed-battle.com/speedtest_e.php, I got way higher numbers on Edge.

Hi all,
I'm currently a 500mbps plan subscriber.
I saw the recontract option with rm10 rebate per month for 24 months available for my account. Can I accept it but not take the 'free Huawei mesh wifi' devices and installation? Am happy with the old Huawei gpon running with my own Asus Zenwifi XT8 mesh solution.

QUOTE(jjj2 @ Jul 30 2021, 06:53 PM) Hi, you can have your own existing devices, but during Installation, we will need to put a remark. A new 24-months contract applies. Thanks, bro. Not moving house anytime soon so a 24 mth contract is fine. An RM10 rebate per month would be nice to have.

QUOTE(IAmLejen @ Sep 19 2021, 10:06 AM) Anyone here using 500mbps while staying alone? I am using 100mbps now thinking of an upgrade. And also if I upgrade to 500mbps now am I entitled for the RM10x24months rebate? 500mbps for a single user is overkill, I think. I have 3 people in my household and all 3 are heavy users of video streaming services. 100mbps is too little bandwidth based on my router's stats. 500mbps gives the extra headroom I need.
