tried out my new archer c2300. still cant get 500Mbps
iphone x - results almost same with C1200 - 270down 370up
imac - slightly better at first but after several tries can reach 500/480

at this point i think its not worth it for me to get a better router as my devices cant reach the speed....

This morning I tested out my speeds again with my iPhone X
I can get 500Mbps down and about 300Mbps up

I think if you are getting 200-300Mbps now, you should just wait a bit. And also take stock of your current devices as they may not be able to get these speed. And even if you get 500Mbps, do you really need it?
I kinda regret not getting the Deco M9 instead cause at least with that I can get both speed and range.

Why is it that I can get around 400-500Mbps only in the early mornings? At night around 250-350Mbps only

But if test using my router’s internal Speedtest, I can get 500Mbps. This buildin Speedtest should be using Lan correct?

So it’s not because night time more ppl are using and congested as I’m still getting that speed to my router via Lan just cannot get via Wifi

I also have this same router. I think most, including mine, can only reach 250-300Mbps over wifi. Over Lan it can reach 500Mbps.

You can try buying a better router, which I did, but I think it’s not worth the effort given that not all devices can reach 500Mbps.

I dare not recommend. I’m not knowledgeable in these things. I bought tplink C2300 based on recommendations here and also based on my budget. Improvement is there but found I only got 1 device that can get that speed consistently.

Plus different situations will yield different results. Btw I like Xiaomi stuff but I think for router better get other brands haha.

Blue Cave so good? Going by the looks, I dont have much confidence in it.....because no antennas haha.

sigh i tried to save money by buying ac2300 but in my heart always thinking about Deco M9.....*kicking myself now*

Is Fast.com Speedtest accurate? I’m getting much faster speed than if tested with Ookla Speedtest

if you change DNS in your router, all your devices no need to change (when on lan & wifi)

I have the 500Mbps plan. I thought upload speed is also 500Mbps? I can get 500Mbps download but upload is only 250Mbps
