League Rules:


General Rules
1. This is a 1 on 1 online league. Players are free to choose any race, inclusive of Random.
2. Game condition to be played throughout the league will be Annihilate, Control Area & Take and Hold. Winner is decided when either one condition is achieved.
3. Open to Malaysian only. Game are to play over LAN, GameSpy or Direct Connection.
4. Minimum players to start the league is 24.
5. The league is separated into 3 tables, namely Premier Division, 1st Division and 2nd Division. Each division consists AT LEAST 8 players.
6. Each player are limited to play against the players within the same division.
7. Each player is to play against each other twice, home and away. Player with the home advantage is responsible for choosing the map from the map pool of that particular season.
8. Eight maps will be chosen into the map pool for each season.
9. At the end of each season, the player with lowest score in Premier Division will be relegated to the 1st Division and the winner of 1st Division will be promoted to Premier Division. And the 2 players with the lowest score in 1st Division will be relegated to 2nd Division and the top 2 of 2nd Division is promoted to 1st Division.
10. The duration of the league is 4 weeks. However, the duration will be extended if there are more than 8 players in the division.
11. For the first 3 weeks, EVERY player is required to have completed 50% of their games. eg. 8 players in one division, we expect the player played at least 7 games after 3 weeks the league started. League organizer has the right to disqualify the player who fail to do so. If such a case happen, all the points that involved the disqualified player will be pulled back.
12. Player are free to arrange their opponent and their match.
13. Winner of each game gets 3 points while the loser get 1 point. The player with the highest score of each division will be declared as the winner of the season for that particular division.
14. Shall there are more than one player share the same score, a playoff will be called upon to decide the winner for the season.


During the Game
1. Observer is prohibited in all match. There will be no marshal sitting into any match unless explicitly announced by the league organizer.
2.At the start of each game, an acknowledgment must take place between both parties that the game they are playing will be counted as part of the league match. Eg. Player A type TO ALL: for league Player B type TO ALL: Ok. This have to be done within the first minute or the league organizer has the right to forfeit the particular game.


Disconnection
1. Any game that suffer a disconnection of either one party before the 2 minutes mark are to be restarted.
2. Disconnection that happened after the 2 minutes mark will be at the discrete of both players. Should both players agree to rematch, a rematch will be taken into place at the same time or another time that agreed by both.
3. Should there agreement could not be made on both parties, league organizer will have the final said by watching the replay of that particular match.


After the Game
1. Replays is to be saved by both parties and the winner of that match will upload it to this thread.
2. If you wish to log in any complaints, please post in this thread and the league organizer will look into it.



Penalty
1. We encourage of good netiquette throughout the competition. Therefore the league organizer will not tolerate any swearing, excessive spamming and insult that happened during the game.
2. Bug exploitation and disconnection on purpose will be dealt severely.
3. Hacking or modifying the game itself to gain game advantage will lead to ban from the league without question asked. However, changing your hotkeys setup with third party software is an exception to this rules.
4. We will listen to any complaints and will conduct necessary point deduction once the complaint hold to be true and the organizer found that punishment is needed.

Just some update, the website will be ready somewhere in the mid of June. I will try to finalize the rules somewhere that time as well. So, buck up yourself, people. We have a war to wage !!

Does this mean i cant use Grid Hot Keys?

why do u want to use grid hotkey in the 1st place. non of us use it anywhere, so in the competition

I prefer Grid over the normal ones.They are easier to use since there are less keywords to remember.

I have been training with the normal ones.

Rules updated. You are allowed to modify your hotkeys via third party software.

I think there is another thing that you need to clarify-the camera mod,even though i dont use it.It enable the camera to zoom out further or closer than the original setting.Fog of war and the other usual stuff are there,the only changes are the camera zoom distance.

I posted a screenshot of it.



Maybe no one uses here but who knows.I think that the camera mod needs to be stated somewhere in the rules.

And for those new players, the reason we separate the league to 3 tables is to give chances to newbies alike so they could stand a chance to win something as well. And yea... did I mention that winners of each table will win something ??

How are we going to separate the division will be based on the past tournaments records. So for those that we have not come across before, most likely we will put you into the junior table unless you ask to be put into higher table. Choices is yours but not for the veterans.

it would be wise to declare on the forums if the player only has the dc version only.. and random it should be banned.. cos it would be to the disadvantage to the opponent

Huh ?? I dont see what's the disadvantage of using random, be it only with DC or only DoW vanilla. Imagine that you are facing an opponent with only DC version, you dont know about it... so ?? You still need to scout upfront no matter what.

let say i only owned DC. and my main race is Tau and Necron. no matter what, i still get back my best race, that is unfair for other people.

IMO there is no need to ban random, but a ranodm player must show that he can select

1) An old race, meaning SM, ork, CSM or Eldar

Then

2) IG

Before he can play. Else random would be meaningless.
Like Johnny said if a guy only use Tau or necron it can hinders other players specific build and doesnot carry the penalty of need to know almost all the races' play.

let it be random. lets try this round 1st. if it cause something bad. we ban random next time.

Because Random offer the player an element of suprise. Since his opponent cannot tell what race he is, He is force to go for a general BO while he can work on a specific BO.

What Waba mean is Some pll will only have DC hence when they random will only get Tau and Crons. So some pll can train with these 2 races then put random giving them an unfair edge since the opponent guessing a possibility of all 7 race.

And if you translate that into maths:

That means that for a player with only DC installed, he has a 50% chance of getting his race of choice.

Where as for a player with DoW + WA + DC, his odds are at about +- 14.30% for getting the race of his choice.

Pretty unfair imho, you might have to re-work the rules for players with only DC installed.

unless if they have to announce what race they got during the starting to play phase.. which can be a hindrance for people to pick random.. cos they have to type the for "league" and the race they got.. which cuts in on the game time.. well thats my take on it..
or banning it to avoid it all together

I dont like this idea. im not a good typer.

it happened to me when i talk too much at the begining of game, end up i accidentally deleted my grots or HQ and mess up the capping order and buildings built half-way and it stopped.

During the 1st minute, i got alot of action need to do, possible the moment of highest APM occuring.

so can i just delay the typing of msg to minute 2-3??

It made all the difference if your skill is at higher level. Now I am not saying I > u or things like tat but the point is just by knowing the race alone can determine alot when it comes to high level play, staring BOs for anti necron and anti tau can be so different at some point whether or not did u build a gen in the begiining is the deciding factor.

This topic is now being discuss because we feel it is best sorted before some unhappy scenarios arise.

For the benefits of all, I have assigned Fox to oversee the feedback of rules. Keep posting your feedback, and I would appreciate if you could offer some solutions to address that concerned issues of yours.

There are currently 2 major disputes now

1) The typing of "league" in the game beginning to verify a league game to ensure both players understood the game counts.

The major concern is the time needed to type the word so to say it ruins ur BO.

Solution:
- Just one of the players tyle "L" instead of league, and another player response by typing "ÖK". If players are having problem to type such short letters then there is no point of even proceeding as evidently both party are severely physical handicapped. Ppl type GLHF all the time and it is 4 letters instead of 1.


2) Random race

Due to the very nature of DC being a stand alone pack random could mean random of 2, 6 or 7 races which can be exploited. Reason of being why some competition banned random all together.

Solutions:

Either

- The random player must show that he can choose and old race and IG race before playing random to confirm fairness

OR

-Ban random.

I say it's a better idea to ban random.No random for the league.

About the typing part,i think we just remove it completely.It's just bring unnecessary trouble to the players.

Yes you can. We do not limit how many games you can play within a week, you can finish all your games within one day if you are able to.

Hmm no more feedbacks on the random issue?? Basically I dont find it necessary to ban random. Eventhough that person only has DC, when he/she uses random most of the time will only get Necrons cause thats the race I always get with DC random. LOL. For now the random option will be open until I receive more feedbacks.

What is with the hold up?

I only support 2 options:
1) Random player must proved he got 7 races
2) Ban random

Logically... players can do anything to as an element of surprise... not juz random races... each and every race in DC also got their own unfair advantages excluding the bugs(if there still are)...

Thats why Soul and I decided to leave the random on. If want to prove got 7 races very easy. Before game start show opponent can select all races then only select random.

Yeap thats true, u can always surprise your opponent using anything to rush them. So far I haven encountered any bugs yet.

u didn't read the readme for all the patch upgrades kar...?
not juz rushing... even sneaking... like the eldar webway portal...
or the "chaos raptor to bloodthirster at the back of ur base tactic", "the stealth raid" by Tau and necrons, and also the "orkish wave"... i got pwned by those tactics b4...

after upgrading to latest patch the tech tree change d ler... chaos predator a lil headache d due to the new lascanon upgrade(which takes time)... now it seems the eldars has the most element of surprise which also can be countered by experienced players... i missed the old chaos projectiles...

but in the 1st DOW the Orks have the best rush advantage cuz the start wif a group of slugga boyz... which are the best early infantry unit...

Most of what u mentioned is balance issues, not bugs.

Real bugs would be like eldar warp spider after in and out of the web way keep auto going to CC enemy and the infamous necron power forever at zero thingy.

i think ban random will be better, fair to everyone. by the way how to play through hamachi? will u guys cr8 a new network?
