Gx38 Max speed is 6 mbps, gx68 no speed cap, but what is the max speed one can get on umobile assuming coverage is ok?

May I know from which Telco ?

I submitted yesterday from Xox and still no news until now. Probably the worst MNP delaying MVNO

Thinking to move from GX50 (unlimited data at 5mbps, unlimited local calls, postpaid) to GX38 (unlimited data at 6mbps, unlimited local calls, prepaid). Other than postpaid vs prepaid, is there any other restriction or limitation anyone knows about?
*
I think GX50 is speed cap at 6mbps same as gx38. Only different is the hotspot data allocation.

They ate back their own words and kept changing their OWL deal numerous times until its forgotten.

This has taught me a lesson NEVER to trust anything Celcom or TM related. They have no integrity and commitment to what they offer. Management always changing the same ol circle of MNC faces. bangwall.gif

They have this priviledge culture which SELECTIVELY offer different deals to people which was also affecting old Maxis. Luckily Maxis managed to get rid of these parasites people and emerged competitive today.

Not just the mobile industry, you go to Unifi threads also you'll see different people getting different deals. Some would get 800MBps plans for less than RM200, some would pay the same for much less etc.

These kind of bad practices just make enemies with their customers because those who doesn't get it will feel angry for the mistreatment of being left out.
*
Totally agreed! Unifi is a good example with some many Versions of offerings to different customers. As a customer I always felt cheated by TM.

Am thinking to terminate my gx50 line after only a week. Went cycling today and popped into the neighborhood Starbucks for a drink.

Damn, the line was totally unusable despite showing full bars of 4g.

Which area is that?

Tanjung Tokong in north part of Penang island.

Maybe the area is having network issue? You should give them a call and get them to fix it.

Not a bright and thoughtful move in the long term.

It doesn't much of a difference anymore since people are all now on instant messaging apps such as Whatsapp, Viber, Line and WeChat even Zoom. So why want to inconvenient your customers since providing it a value added feature will make them happier to stay with you.

The whole idea of roaming is obsolete already just as SMS with now IP based packet data is so advanced already now.

IDD, Video calls, SMS, roaming and 1-300 toll free numbers should be all obsolete by now since modern technology now allows HD calls and data to become unlimited.
*
Ya lo, I hope u mobile can consider 1300 numbers as part of the unlimited calls too. So far I am satisfied with u mobile 4g coverage at both my house and office as these are the 2 places where I spend most of my time.

I disabled voice over wifi cause it really drains my iPhone battery damn fast.

Agreed. When it comes to connectivity, I am willing and preferred to pay premium for best line quality, coverage and good customer service like Maxis and Celcom.

By the way, if we combine Celcom's own customers with their MVNOs, it still the largest telco in term of customer base in Malaysia with 13 millions subscribers.[Source]
*
Celcom customer service ok? Seriously. My experience with Yoodo was bad as can only chat with them and no number to call for support. The way they handle my complaint also like not much they can do cause always said they need to refer to Celcom. When I call Celcom they don’t entertain me as I was a Yoodo customer.

Or you can try disabling the auto search/WiFi access point feature which is the main cause of the battery drain.
*
I am at home and connected to my home wifi so wifi auto search is not applicable here. But voice over wifi is enabled and battery drains so the culprit definitely is voice over wifi.

Anyway I don’t need it as u mobile coverage pretty ok at my house.

Most people have two moving points only, that is home and office.

U Mobile will not simply change their plans like CELCOM and MAXIS.
U Mobile has stable 4G line in my home and working place.
*
Yea that’s why I go for umobile from Celcom/Yoodo. Most of time at home or office as long as these 2 places with decent 4g I am ok. I am not gamer on mobile. I have a high speed unifi at home for my ps4 and streaming needs. At the end of the day it all depends on requirement, then find the celco that best suit the need.

I (= GX50) confirm that I cannot now video-stream Youtube smoothly at 1080p - VPN not used, ie can only video-stream Youtube smoothly at 720p = there has been no change for GX50. Maybe got change for GX68. Note that hotspot does not cap video-streaming = if used up all alloted 5GB hotspot data, gotta buy hotspot data addon.
.

PS - "Unlimited" data GX68 phone plan does not use VideoOnz.
.

I am on gx68. Tested YouTube 1080p with no issue. Smooth streaming.

Khuan0813 azhar75 Will using VPN or DNS over HTTPS make my GX50 test for the tentative-80GB monthly FUP limit ineffective.? ie maybe because UMobile's software could not monitor what I am doing on the Internet.
....... So far, the MyUMobile app could not display my unlimited data usage(= indicates 0GB used) since I started my test. The Internet Speed Meter Lite app does show my daily Internet usage even when using VPN or DoH.

Mine too as no usage is recorded under Unlimited too.

I saw someone mentioned that there was no more FUP for all GX plans.

That's why no need to display how many GB we have used so far in MyUMobile app.
In my opinion, I don't think that U Mobile will do so.
*
Yea in the app still showing 0.00MB under Unlimited. But 1gb free daily data is tracked, so does mobile hotspot.

Hey guys, anyone having problems with U Mobile?

Unable to receive TAC SMS when ordering things.
Like bank TAC Code?
I tried to order something from Maybank DC or Maybank2U.
I wait for so long until it never come.

I tried using Big Pay also not success.
I restarted my phone also no changes.

Anyone here experiencing this issue?

Thanks.
*
I have no issue with that. As long as coverage is ok then should be fine.
