Like I said before, there are a few negatives or not-very-Rahmah about this Pakej 5G Terpaling Rahmah, ie mainly to benefit DNB, the celcos and 5G device manufacturers.

Note that the Postpaid U68 plan is different from the Pakej 5G Rahmah plan, even though the latter (Rahmah) plan is based on the U68 plan for purchase or subscription.

IOW, Pakej 5G Rahmah is same as the Postpaid U68 plan except for the 5G "device bundle" costing RM240-subsidized that comes with a 24-months' contract and RM10 rebate per month for 24-months, ... 200GB of unlimited-speed 4G/5G data quota that can be "Ultra Hotspot 5G" and can also be used for International Roaming in ID, SG and TH only, ... .... instead of 100GB data quota that can be "Ultra Hotspot 5G" and 15GB quota for Int'l Roaming in 30+ countries, etc.

If you are now subscribed to the Postpaid U68 plan, the original terms have not been changed, ie you still pay RM68 monthly for 100GB of unlimited-speed 4G/5G data quota that can be "Ultra Hotspot 5G", 15GB data quota for Int'l Roaming in 30+ countries, free domestic calls, no-contract, BYOD, etc.

Only those U68 subscribers who have "upgraded" to Pakej 5G Rahmah  via online or by going to the U Mobile shops will have the original terms changed, ie changed to Rahmah-terms.

OTOH, if you are now subscribed to Pakej 5G Rahmah, you are tied to a 24-months' contract mainly because of the subsidized 5G "device bundle". Cancelling it next month will likely incur a penalty payment of 23-months X RM68.

Is it possible  to move from U98 to U68 (200gb) without opting for the phone and contract? I am OK  with paying rm68  per month.

Yes just downgrade to U68 just now. Past usage never exceeded 150 gb. Didn't take the phone package.

U98 comes with 1TB data that can be fully hotspot? Also what’s the experience of 15GB data roaming? I went to HK with a friend in July, no issue with my Digi roaming but she cannot connect on her U data roaming, ended up she bought a local SIM from 7-11.

Recently Digi changed the data roaming rule so I don’t really like it. Since I travel very often and I like the free data roaming. I feel like getting a U98 plan just for data purposes.

Yes it is. I have tried doing so overseas. I have unlimited call and when I'm calling back to Malaysia while overseas using wifi calling, there are no extra charges.

In a sense, the rebate offer is a 24-month "contract" because after opting in for the offer, you need to be on the U38 plan for 24 months to enjoy the RM5 monthly rebate AND if you leave U38, eg port-out or downgrade or upgrade your plan, you will need to pay back the RM5 monthly rebate that you have enjoyed.

U Mobile's likely intention is to be more certain of your RM33 monthly payment for the next 24 months and to try to prevent you from jumping ship within this 24 months if rival celcos later offer even a cheaper plan or same-price plan but with higher data quota.

In my Postpaid GX50 case, I have recently opted in for the offer of RM10 monthly rebate for 12 months = "contracted" for 12 months. This offer is the 2nd time that I received since 2019. .......

I recently encounter a bad experience with this provider

Due to their recent migration work of decomm 3g and move to 4g / VOLTE , i was experiencing erratic call drop, unable to make calls and data connectivity issue.
i did raise a complaint via their chatbot but it didn't get thru ( as per their claim) .

Been using their service about 6 month which was ok till recently. I was using a MI 10 5g phone.

3 weeks of poor reception service, thought it was my phone issue and decided to get a new one.
take note, this period, i already file a complaint with MCMC and the provider have yet to revert on the status of the complaint

Sign up for 1 of those rahmah package and gotten my self a honor 90 lite.
all of a sudden , everything was working fine.

This is when the service provider came back and say that my old phone was not supported becoz it does not support 4g/volte

feel cheated as the cause of the problem was by the provider migration work

now buta buta bought a phone for no reason and worst, tied to a 24 month contract

follow up with provider, they not willing to waive the early termination fees as i agree and sign the contract. (wtf)

Super piss with the outcome .

What are the options available to dispute this case?

1. - i no longer want to use this useless provider
2. - provider insists me to pay full penalty ( early termination fees)

Any suggestion are welcome
