In Ipoh, the coverage is way better, Ipoh got 4G+ coverage 1st before KL.... can tell because at that time, I was using iPhone 5

During festive season(cny, Christmas) the network feels like normal
*
normally during festival & PH time.. sure congestion issues..
not for UM only. but ALL telco operating in Malaysia...
only differences is how critical is the congestion / traffic...

u says network feel normal huh?
meaning the capacity is way more than normal (even for KL standards)...
that's why feel normal..

just my guess...

Not sure why but ipoh or some perak area need to have different kind of network telecom settings due to geographical
*
ooh maybe because more hilly area..
the signal power needed to be more powerful to penetrate the hills devil.gif
thus full coverage signal strength all the way drool.gif

confused.gif hmm.gif

Well according to my cousin who lives in Ipoh, Digi and umobile have better signal than celcom and maxis because many people use it for it’s price  rclxub.gif  No idea if this is true....

but full signal strength means that more people will be connected to the same tower if that's the case
user posted image
*
hmm..
if for price factor..
many other place also same like that..
there's always cheapsake people everywhere tongue.gif

more people connect same tower sure would create congestion..
but u say it's smooth..
meaning the capacity is more than users blink.gif

QUOTE(yongtjunkit @ Feb 21 2020, 01:06 PM)
Can't exactly confirm this but as far as I recall, last Christmas, Celcom network doesn't feel fast.....

Can load Astro go on umobile network in Ipoh as well

user posted image
*
well unless there's insider info..
we can just speculate as for now..

the info we needed is the total towers & capacity installed for Ipoh

The sites will be built by maxis n UM. Maxis UM celcom digi must perform ran sharing on those 153 sites.

Haha yea but maybe to tower congestions make my speed slower than intended....

The fastest connection so far i have seen in pekan port dickson
*
Actually the tower location to your area also contribute to slow speed..

I mean if there's any interference.. there's possibilities...

Haha cant say much but technically when the moment those technician deploy their hardwares, thats the crucial moment

But maybe they just do it not to the standard, hence subpar quality
*
Well I think it's more to management don't want to invest more on hardware

Try to squeeze maximum from current infrastructure...

No. This was my first time experiencing no 4G signal for the whole night - been using GX50 since Jan 2019. Tonight, including right now, I have no problem with 4G signal reception, as per usual/normal.
....... Maybe UMobile was upgrading to 4G LTE-Advance = 130Mbps average speed. Maxis and Digi have already upgraded to 4G LTE-Advance in most urban areas.
.
*
if upgrading going on in your area..
should have zero signal whole night (or few hours offline)...
not just 3G signal only available...

Just switch to GX68, and this is my speed....... Should I just call UMobile and justify the price I pay for? Or this is normal..
*

Normal speed is below 1Mbps dry.gif

Well best they can do is pos u new sim..
But from what I heard Pos Malaysia is overload now... Many backlog post & parcels in their office...
So your sim delivery might get delay
