I can see why ur battery die so fast. Seldom used car, long intervals between starting the engine, very short drives. All these standing still leads to battery sulfation (battery losing its capacity to hold charge), and the short drives means power being drained during startup but not enough mileage to fully charge the battery. Guarantee battery fast kong.

If you gonna be away for more than 1 week, remove the battery connections and cover the battery terminals with caps to prevent oxidation. Or every week get somebody to start and REV the car for about 3-5 minutes. 2000~3000rpm should be okay.

Or invest in a Bosch battery charger?

What tint are you using? Those guys installing for me said that some types of tint are too power that they can't even stick on outside. An XC90 prior to me had to stick on headlamp after his tint interfered with their sensor detection. Luxury car agung tint darkness failed. Lolz!

I confirmed my Ecotint no problem for RFID sticker on outside.

Mid range raytech security film. Didn't have any problem with the smartag service either.

I wonder if his parents would know how to use that battery charger? I know mine won't, lolz! Just revving the car every week should keep it "fresh".

Hi. You have the RFID fixed internal or external of your windscreen? Mind letting me know which location?
I am also on 3M crystalline and will be fixing the RFID next week.
Thanks in advance.
*
You go their website and pick a location and either a morning or afternoon fitting session. If you know when you're fixing it, then you'll already know this. The fitting takes only minutes, them printing their paperwork takes longer. So just bring a copy of driver licence and motor insurance cover note to help speed things up.

Not sure how long can it last coz last time no one or very seldom i use the car coz would only back in Malaysia less than a month per year.
Now i ask my parent to drive it often .....so should be better than before ...... my mileage finally can hit 3k per service ....compare to last time sometime not even 1k i bring for servicing already lol

How does revving the car for 3-5mins at 2-3k rpm help when short drives can't? I'm pretty sure short drives encompass engine revving at 2-3k rpm, and certainly more than 5 mins.
*
Just by revving the engine for a few minutes doesn't even recoup the energy used to crank the engine at start-up. Not to mention stinking up your car porch with the smell of exhaust.
Just revving without driving just contaminates the engine oil with fuel because start fuel mixture are usually richer. If they got time, at least go for a half hour drive somewhere or a loop?

It should be rm3 a litre at least. Malaysians very wastefyl when it comes to fuel.

Teh big question is how they are going to implement?
One time cash payment? I doubt they will involve petrol stations because the costs of that would be prohibitive.

almost every year so far. Using 3rd battery now, car is 4 years old.

Wow you guys' cars really hard on batteries. My previous car, Myvi I think only changed battery twice over the 7 years plus I owned it. The 2 batteries lasted on average 2.5 years.
I drove that car 5 days a week for work more less, about an hour a day of commuting.

I am asking my Honda SA to do it form me where I bought the car from him. From the list he sent me, gross premium increased.
*
Easier to understand if you show both quotations. Then can see.
I just renewed my insurance and to do a new cover note only takes minutes and it is office admin staff that do it not SA. You could've done it all on that day no need to wait.
It is usually the additional riders like windscreen insurance that increase the total cost of the policy.
Between the 2 quotes I got from my original SA and the nearby Honda dealer, the latter had a higher sum insured but lower total premium because the rider for windscreen was lesser. The price difference between the 2 quotes was about 100.

Anyone have problem with power window?
*
QUOTE(nordingh @ Nov 9 2018, 10:20 PM)
Common issue is the rear windows can't roll down, both sides. Mostly because owner didn't use it at all, end up the rubber trim stick to the glass/tinted when exposed to some heat. My friend need to go to SC to fixed the issue after 3 months bought the car.

My advise is to keep testing/playing with the switches every 2 weeks for all windows. That's what I do for the last 4 years and sometime my little son will do it for me. Same method I use for my 14 years old Saga and 10 years BLM, both never had any problem with the power windows.

If your problem is different, please state it here.

QUOTE(gsan @ Nov 10 2018, 09:36 AM)
same here, happened on rear left side, especially during cold, need press few times baru can roll down  sweat.gif
*
Um, you guys don't roll your Windows to vent the hot cabin air after your car has been parked outside in the sun? I do it all the time.

Huhu. Why do Motos follow so closely in my left hand side blind spot? Now I have to repair and repsray that little nick near the left rear wheel arch because after a few days of rain, rust is showing.

Yeah, very big blindspot behind left. And i thought my Persona had it bad but apparently City is quite difficult to see. I can't imagine how Civic FC owners handle their blindspot!

Very bad damage bro? Can see the bare metal or just the red primer? Did the motorcyclist make a claim from you then?
*
Just a nick the size of a 20 Sen coin. Rust is showing so I'd better get it fixed.

If you drive less, follow the time oil change interval.
If you drive a lot, follow the mileage oil change interval. As long as the oil used is recommended by the SC or a similar spec, it should be alright.

Hmm. Looks like most of you are happy and can live with the "floating effect" if the car.

What floating effect? Which stretch of road? What speed? Which City variant? What tyres?

Above speed of 140km, highway. By rear passenger. Bouncy effect or I say.
*
It's tuned for comfort maybe your passenger not used such comfort. And 140 isn't normal cruising speed. Keep it at 110 and with cruise control engaged is when the City shines.
Afaic, as long the driver drives properly and the ride feels right, all other feedback about float or bounce is moot.

Coming from 1st gen Persona, of cuz ride and handling and high speeds stability is like day & nite compared to City with higher center of gravity.  But at same time, City is geared towards Eco driving hence I am driving much slower than I had been in my old Persona manual. Can't sapu corners near road edges like I used to, in my City that's a scary thing to do. OTOH, road noise is much less, less fear of objects going under and might damage the car, I no longer have to obliquely steer into and out of my driveway & carpark ramps (my Persona scraped the pavement few times), and going over road humps are less jarring affairs so i don't have to brake so hard going over them.

To each his/her own lor. But if you have changed ur suspensions, do share share lor. Sharing is caring icon_rolleyes.gif .
*
Change to stiffer setup then backseat passenger will complain that ride is too harsh. Lol

Exactly! My parents had always complained my Persona rear ride is to jarring and every uneveness on the road they can feel.
*
Lol. In this case they aren't used to the road feedback that a sporty driver needs to maximise his driving experience. Ok maybe the driver should also not look for every uneven and textured piece of tarmac in search of grip. Hehehe

Can't help it. Malaysian roads is like shiet. Uneveness memang macam itu lor. Hahaha! But then when I went to Sydney recently, their roads there also not much more better, hahaha. Maybe its just me being a typical Malaysian who complains a lot.
*
So true, I'm always moving the car inside the lane to find the smoothest tarmac.
Aussie roads are much better lah in Victoria countryside and the Great Ocean road. Yes the texture is rough but no undue holes. Though this is my experience from holidays in 2012, things might have changed since then.
