imo if wan test go straight for n1 or n2, da rest are waste of time unless you want the sense of achievement of climbing up each steps.

Different people, different objectives. Who is anyone to judge it's a waste of time?

Also, it's best to at least try another level's paper once before hitting N1 or N2 straight. Get familiarize with the process, environment, time management etc.

In terms of speed & reliability, please go with 2B. You don't want to potentially screw up the important exam because of mechanical pencil.

I just invested and bought Kindle for the purpose of reading japanese titles. Can recommend any beginner to intermidiate level reading material?
Are there any other sources other than amazon.jp for free downloads? Appreciate it.

no use unless its n1 and n2 its a need to enroll into Japanese university

other level are just self satisfaction or progress check

you dont have to think about JLPT first you learn because you want to know japanese not for the test
