I am considering between Asus FX505 and Lenovo Legion Y530.
Which would be the better option here?

Hi everyone. I'm looking to buy a 3k-ish gaming laptop and I've been looking at the Dell G3, acer nitro 5, asus tuf fx504, msi gl63 and lenovo legion y530.

Can anyone with relevant info help me with this? The heat level, performance etc. I only play FIFA and PES, and weight is also within my considerations as I'll be taking it to work - not for gaming of course! ;-)

i played around with lenovo customisation on t480/y530, im just not sure what kind config is the best, i just wanted to have it optimal setup, when i played around with the best config i can think off, seems the price almost the same and i plan to purchase it with student discount if i manage to get one

this is work/media consumption laptop primarily but with the same price point why not y530 in corner of my mind LOL..

mind share your input ?

I am helping my sister to get a multimedia and gaming laptop. Budget 4k, expect battery life at least 3 hours. Any recommendation?

I am considering to buy a laptop around RM3k. I have done some survey on the laptop. Could you guys recommend me which laptop to choose for among below three laptop? Or you guys have other recommendations as well. I put in Asus TUF FX505G because I am thinking to play Dota 2 or its better to buy a PC to play Dota 2 and exclude Asus TUF FX505G from the list.

1) Lenovo Ideapad 530S
2) Asus Vivobook S14
3) Asus TUF FX505G

If screen size goes to 14" and normal hdd instead of ssd? Can make it within budget? Speed is important, slow bootup is not preferred. I know those celeron or power saving slow cpu are cheaper, but they are not preferred. I rather up the budget a little and see how. 4GB ram is fine, cos light use. Nothing serious. Not going to open 50 browser tabs. Maybe just 10.

4) Prefer SSD (But not a must, because I can swap out with SSD aftermarket)

My current laptop is Asus N43SL which I have been using for 8 years. 

Yup, that time I bought for less than RM3k, and can run most modern games in medium high settings. 
Seems like many people are recommending Illegear, after some quick study, seems like it is a local company that sells custom-built laptops, their reputation very good?
Also, their service center is in KL, but I live in Penang, so might be hard if I need to service the laptop.
