Can’t afford to fork out 650 for AirPods yet! Maybe when 2nd gen releases hehe
*
I'm still not sold on the AirPods yet though... But at RM649 now (or cheaper, sometimes) it's more reasonable compared to the launch price of RM849...

QUOTE(qtee @ Sep 30 2018, 09:55 AM)
just wondering how bad was the network problem with Iphone X.. anyone can share their experience?
*
If you're referring to the issue whereby the iPhone X modem network speed is slower compared to other Android phones with Qualcomm modems then yes, it's true. But it's not that significant in real life use. Other than that, no issues either on WiFi or on 4G.

i mean is it easyly drop from LTE to 3G, or drop from 3G to GSM compare to your previous phone at the same area?
*
Used my iPhone X for 3 months or so and now my wife is using it. We're both on maxis and we don't have this issue.

Did you restart your phone recently? I noticed it happens but after a while (a few days or so) it'll drop back again.

Bought a unit from Gen Y. Definitely a steal for a 256GB iPhone X.  Works well with local telco and confirm that the model is a1865. That is the same model as the local unit.  I opted for self pickup and warranty activated on the same day. Do check it out.

It's a US unlocked set? No turbo SIM required right?

US unlocked set. Turbo SIM not required. I’ve done factory reset and can confirm that this is correct. But they also sell a world unlock set which is cheaper. I think better pay a bit more to get the normal unlocked sets.
*
Yup, good call. Congrats on your purchase!

guys, how long do you charge your phone from 10% to 100%?

it took me 3.5 hours..

Anyone using fast charging cable/plug and has no problem?
*
You used the stock adapter? If yes, then yeah, that's pretty normal. If you have an iPad adapter that will help immensely, otherwise get a USB-C PD adapter and a lightning to USB C cable.

Yes, i am using stock adapter. Do you think 2.0v out adapter helps? I have one Pineng adapter
*
I think a higher output (2.0A) will definitely be better than the stock adapter's 1.0A, but have no idea if using a third party one like Pineng is OK. You can try though, I think it should be fine.

The plug and USB C cable very expensive o

It's Apple laugh.gif

There was a promo by Switch recently, whereby you get a free USB C-Lightning cable when you buy the adapter, but it sold out pretty quickly too!

RM189.. Good deal huh?

Unfortunately, promo over already. I would have gone for it except I already have a USB-C to lightning and a third party USB C PD adapter.

Yeah, I thought of it but assumed that Apple would pack a fast charger with their new iPhones. I was wrong, hahaha...

Haha, true enough.

QUOTE(Mackiddo @ Oct 6 2018, 12:00 AM)
yup but it doesn't matter. I always do RMA with Apple, especially their charging cables. Think I have rma >3 charging cables over the years.
*
Wow, touch wood I’ve never had to do RMA with Apple ever since I first started using their phones (iPhone 4), not even their cables. Hopefully it stays that way!

hi guys. newbie in iphones here. thinking of buying the X but not sure to jump in now or wait for the XR. plus, do most telcos discontinue the previous model right after the new one goes on sale? i'm a little bit worried maxis will stop selling the X cos i'm looking to get it next month.
*
Once the stocks of the X is finished, all telcos including maxis will stop selling it as Apple has discontinued the production of the X. You can check at maxis website for availability.

Aside from the new A12 chip and bigger battery capacity in the Xr, the X is a superior phone to the Xr and is still a good buy given the recent price cut. Up to you to decide smile.gif

Maxis still has stock for the silver 256 GB model. I just got it via the zerolution plan. But the Face ID was faulty. So sent it to Apple for repair.
*
Yeah, I checked but only certain places still have stocks, and very limited at that smile.gif
