Hi, anyone here use asus rt-ac68u router with unifiturbospeed? My unifi speed is 500mbps. But somehow, my speedtest from router directly to my PC using cat5e is only 300mbps. The lan cable is not issue here, bcoz same cable is used on dlink router, and i manage to get 500mbps speed

Using RT-AC68U on 500mbps here.
No issue achieving 500mbps on LAN. Just my WIFI only about 400mbps, need to do some tweaks.

Of course, there is no issue. Gigabit LAN, so it can support up to 1000Mbps. Set the 5GHz to 80MHz, and AC.

Yes bro. Was just replying zainuddin80 because he's having trouble achieving 500mbps with the same LAN cable on the Asus router but not Dlink router, which is weird.
And thanks will try the wifi settings.

Hi bro , may I know what setting are u using to achieve that wifi 400mbps and how close are you to the router? Also the device u use to get 400mbps on wifi is it a 3x3 or 4x4 ?TQ
*
Was very close, only couple inches away. On 5ghz but auto wireless and auto channel bandwidth. Will test with AC mode and 80mhz soon.
Wifi device was just a 2x2 built-in.

Surprisingly bro. I didn't change any setting yet and did the speedtest on wifi again. Still on auto wireless mode and auto bandwidth/channel.
Managed to get 500/100 across different servers.

That's very impressive! Now u can relax n enjoy the speed hehe. Same device right?
*
Yeah same device, nothing changed.
But have to say, LAN will be able to get 500/100 on servers that wifi can't. Which is weird since wifi is definitely capable.

Found a setting which is causing most Turbo users to get slow torrent speeds, on uTorrent at least.

Should I share it here, or post a new thread. Or both. (May help users on other ISP)
Or not at all. unsure.gif biggrin.gif

Slow Torrent Speeds on Turbo? Try this if you're on uTorrent default settings.

These steps are for uTorrent (Windows). But the settings should be similar for other torrent clients/OS.

Basically in uTorrent's Options --> Preferences:
Bandwidth: Untick 'Apply rate limit to uTP connections'
BitTorrent: Untick 'Enable bandwidth management [uTP]'

Attached Image

Tested on the CentOS torrents, top seeded torrents, public and private trackers.

My speed with default uTorrent settings:

My speed with the above uTP settings:

Although the speed still can't max out my 500Mbps turbo, the increase is significant enough and a welcomed improvement.
If there are any other settings to improve the speed kindly share.

Is Cat 7 cable overkill for 100Mbps? Future proof. Price gap with Cat 6 is not big.
*
Overkill probably yes. Vs CAT5e I noticed some speed difference. But vs CAT6 there wasn't any.

But still I'm using Cat7 as well because as you said, price gap is just a few cents or couple of bucks depending on seller. Using Cat7 for both BTU-to-router and router-to-PC.
