My story this morning. I went to TM Point to downgrade my 500Mbps to RM129 100Mbps as I don't think I'll be using that much speed. Currently I am paying RM199. The TM staff then offered me RM159, maintaining everything else in my package, but renewing my contract for another 2 years. So I said yes.

Customer should be encouraged to work togather asking for decent router from ISP,
Why should customer be given crap router and need to buy their own?

I reported to MCMC already. Will update their response here. In my case, I am Turbo-ed and given a new contract after accepting their reduced monthly fee. My argument is that with the new contract, my status is the same as a new subscriber and thus, hardware renewal is needed especially when the current hardware does not support the new speed.

I told TM via live chat just now that I want a new router. She told me that they can give me for free but they will renew 2 years contract. I told her then to proceed, since I am on a new contract anyway after the reduction to RM159. Their technician will come tomorrow to replace

Your torrenting could be capped by TM
Just wait and be patient.
True, you will be very satisfied. They probably ran out of cable to install. Fiber need special fiber-optic cables.
Just wait and be patient.
Might as well just buy something much better than what they give you.

I will. Just not now. For now I just need one with Gigabit ports

TM changed my router to Archer C5. Wired Speedtest to Cyberjaya showed 504Mbps while via wireless my Redmi Note 3 showed 284Mbps. I'm on 500Mbps. I guess good enough for now since I'll be using the wired connection to my laptop

Just received a message saying i got turbo-ed this morning. Anyone knows if TM going to provide new BTU / router?

You can ask for a new router, but they will renew ur contract and most probably they will give u an AC1200 router, which is still not enough for turbo. Unless u r using wired connection

I visited a nearby TMpoint last Friday to sort out some billing issues and enquire about my Unifi Turbo upgrade. The staff there informed me my turbo was delayed to phase 2 because they detected I was using a non TM router (fingerprinted via my router PPPoE MAC address rolleyes.gif). It seems this was their reasoning for delaying many users to the 2019 upgrade regardless of when you subscribed to Unifi. I argued that it was a pretty ridiculous excuse considering they are providing new D-Link AC1200 routers for customers that they've selected for the phase 1 upgrades.

I asked them to expedite my turbo upgrade as I was still paying the full package price for VIP100. They followed up with me on Monday at 2pm and I was turbo'd by 4.30pm. Interestingly, TM gives an additional 10% extra bandwidth over 800Mbps so I'm getting around 850Mbps down / 210Mbps up.

Nahh. Just their lame excuse. I've been using Asus since day 2 of my unifi after they gave me the crap Innatech router. Got turbo-ed last month.
