After trawling the net researching my options, I'm not even sure if I should buy a new router to make full use of the 800Mbps line.

I'm currently using the RT-AC68U. Most probably the very first model without the step upgrades that came throughout the years for that model. Reading up on the RT-AC5300, GT-AC5300, and the RT-AC86U, there's no clear cut advantage when it comes to Wifi throughput, they're all susceptible the same demons of slow wireless connection: distance, signal through obstacles, interference from other devices and neighbour's wifi signals. Which boils back down to the point that I wont be seeing even 400Mbps on wifi if even if I jump in on those three routers I mentioned earlier. Coz as much as I like my home's floorplan to be like an open studio apartment, I can't do that. There will always be walls and furnitures.

I might as well connect the clients wired whenever I can drag them close enough to the router, and if I can't, then it's tough luck, I suppose. Would building an AiMesh system help in my case?

I'm paying RM 232+ montly for 500mbps + Unifi TV Ultimate.

Planning to get my own router. Looking at TPlink or Tenda, dono which to get.

My home cable using cat5e, having additional 2 access point. To maintain 500mbps, I need to upgrade 2ap and 3 wifi adapter.

Very dilemma. But my house use internet quite heavy also, plus got 6 IPcam running all time.

Any advise for me ?
