Is it worth paying additional RM 140 for Asus TUF Gaming AX3000? Or just settle with the normal AX3000? Good enough? I’m not a gamer (I only play Switch lol) but I want good and stable WiFi connection around the house especially for 2.4GHz as a lot of my smart home devices are only able to connect to 2.4GHz. I won’t want to use LAN cable by the way. I intend to keep everything wireless in my small house. tongue.gif

I’m using iPhone 12 Pro Max and Lenovo Carbon X1 if that matters.

blacktubi, care to shed some lights here? I read your review on your site and after that I am torn between the gaming and normal version. laugh.gif

Have you considered a dedicated wireless access point and use the stock ISP router for routing purpose only. A ubiquiti Unifi AC lite is what I would consider as it's capable of handling 200 concurrent clients. It's also convenient as it's powered by power over Ethernet connection.

Hmm.. I can consider this option too.. In this case, I will need a few APs right?
I will mainly use for smart bulbs and will be handled by Tmall Genie (天猫精灵), quite a lot of bulbs actually. It's China brand - TOSPO 得邦照明, the route will be from bulbs and connect to Tmall Genie.

Others are like Xiaomi robot vacuum and rice cooker. I have Abrain door smart lock and Eken V7 doorbell+cloud camera. In addition, I also have smart curtains also will be handled by Tmall Genie or Xiaomi Xiaoai. If that matters as well, I will have Daikin aircons that have WiFi capability for me to use the smart app. Last but not least, my smart TV is Sony 55" X8000H and will use with Astro Ultra Box.

Since your home is less than 900 square feet, I think just one will suffice especially a Unifi AC lite AP. Else there's the Unifi AC LR (long range).

Trying to decide between Asus TUF-AX3000 vs TP-Link AX90 router. Which one has the superior parental control features and management of WiFi users?

I am looking for a low cost WiFi AC access point/router. Found this Prolink router PRC2401U, AC2600 rated in Lazada. I want to ask whether Prolink routers are good especially in the firmware quality.

global normally support vlan, not sure about redmi ax5
the Qualcomm IPQ6000 looks promising

Redmi ax5 don't support vlan without some modding.
The chipset ipq6000 used in enterprise class WiFi 6 AP by Engenius

Anyone using the new budget Tenda TX3 WiFi 6 Router have any comments about it?

Seems it shares the same Broadcom Quad Core 1.5GHz BCM 6755 chipset as the TP-Link AX20 and Asus AX56U.

Price is sub RM200 for a quad core CPU router.

Newer model among the rest and came out first quarter this year.

Bought this Tenda tx3 last week, cannot comment on WiFi 6 because the devices at my home are WiFi 5 and WiFi 4 for smart IOT.
Using wifi signal analyser app, 5Ghz signal comparison with 5 years old Asus rt-ac1200g+, signal wise -3 to -5 bdm weaker compared to Asus router after 2 wall. Both routers are separated by 2 metre apart.
In free space the reading of both routers are nearly equal.
Firmware quality, Asus is much superior with lots of settings and better UI.
Tenda firmware is basic just enough to operate for home users.
Negatives are, parental control not stable sometimes will not work; and guest WiFi only 1 network with 2.4 and 5 GHz while Asus router gives 3 network.
IPv6 cannot be manually changed only default to ISP IPv6.
I am going to change back to Asus router as main router later. The Tenda is going to be an AP. Kinda disappointed with the Tenda firmware but you get what you paid for.

I just subscribed 4x unifi business packages and all I get is Dlink DIR-830M which I don't think it's able to cope with my business structure. Can't find this model is wifi 5 or 6  dry.gif

Its WiFi 5 router. Not really good in terms of user settings customisation, can't change the DNS to Google DNS. Good enough for home use in my opinion.
