Hi there, in on unifi 300mbps. Was thinking to change my existing asus rtn12hp to tplink (either a6 or a7). As on first thread, a6 is sufficient for 300mbps. Just wondering is the wifi range for a6 and a7 is same ? Using mainly for movie streaming and you tube only. No torrent download. Thank you

QUOTE(noskyreason @ Mar 25 2019, 05:38 PM) I just bought A6 from OOKAS. Originally wanted to get A7 but no budget. Here is what I understand from OOKAS: A6 & A7 wifi range is about the same. In some reviews, A6 even able to perform better speed in far distance compare to A7, this might thanks to it's newer Qualcomm QCA9886 chipset, also 5 antennas (4 x external, 1 x internal). But so far A6 has been serving me quite well, P20 pro can get ~280mbps (need to nearby router, but not side by side la haha). Thanks for the info. Would get the A6 then

QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 29 2019, 10:50 AM) I thought of buying TPlink TL-WR841n(rm59) for use with my Unifi300mbps this couple of days and will use as backup/repeater later while waiting for A6. I bought at lazada for rm169 and receive the next working day.

QUOTE(OOKAS @ Mar 29 2019, 01:20 PM) Hi maruteamatklang, thanks for the support. Just to elaborate more on the difference between Archer A6 and ASUS RT-N12HP A6 is AC1200 dual band + Gigabit Ethernet RT-N12HP is N300 + Fast Ethernet. Which means RT-N12HP suit for bandwidth package 100Mbps or lower. A6 recommend for 100Mbps to 500Mbps bandwidth. Thanks for the clarification. So far satisfy with the A6 but i motice that u need to be really near to the router to get the full speed. I was using 2.4 g and away around 8feet from the router and im able to get only around 50mbps. Side by side i get full 100mbps

Is archer A9 same with C9 ? The design is totally different, but what about specs and performance ?
