Hi there,
I want to request a recommendation on routers. Here are the criteria below: House type: Landed Size of house: 2 floors Features required: N/A Number of devices connected to WiFi: 12 Internet Speed: Unifi 800Mbps Budget:RM1k-RM1.5k (For 2 routers, one at ground floor and one at first floor) Additional Info: Currently, my modem and router sits inside a store room under the staircase which is unfortunate. My current setup is an Asus RTAX56U on ground floor, Tenda switch first floor and Asus RT-N12HP on 1st floor. Internet is rather slow and spotty in some areas.
Thank you very much!

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ Apr 28 2025, 03:56 PM) Get a XT-8 as main unit, move the AX56U as satellite unit. XT8 will give gigabit speed, and AX56U doesn't but the coverage is there. Thank you for the recommendation. However I've read a lot that the XT8 has its own set of problems. It's either good or terrible depending on users). Just worried if this would be the best to go ahead with. Are there any other recommendations? Is it also wise to go with wi-fi 7?

QUOTE(kingkingyyk @ Jun 5 2025, 10:02 AM) I have been using the XT8 (v1, not the current v2) and it has been serving me well over the years. WiFi 7 is expensive and has it's own compatibility issue with old devices when new features are enabled. Unless you go for the BE86U or above, better off stick to high end WiFi 6/e unit. Thank you for the advise! What's the difference between v1 and v2 of XT8?
