looking for a router to replace TP Link C3150v2 ... already sent for RMA once and a year+ later it's starting to act up again with unstable WiFi / dropped connection on UniFi.

one thing I never liked about this router was no way to set Guest Network bandwidth , which is an option I've always had even from those early Aztech routers on streamyx.

currently looking at Asus RT-AX86U and hoping to get a deal on 11.11.

Any better recommendation ?

ISP is TM UniFi. About 15 devices on WiFi and 2 x NAS + CCTV NVR on LAN.

read and watched a few reviews but wondering if anyone has an opinion on Tenda AC23 ?

good enough to support 15 devices ? No need performance, just after stability.

House type: Landed
Size of house: 3000sqft , 2 floors
Features required: Bandwidth Limiter
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 20
Internet Speed: 300Mbps
Budget: RM1k

So I'm currently using a TP Link Archer C3150, which I've RMA-ed once. I've found that having 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz on at the same on this router really interferes with stability so nowadays it's left on 2.4 Ghz.

Another irk is that there is no bandwidth control, even on the network level. ie no bandwidth setting for guest network, which I had even on 2007 Aztech TM router.

Due to the above, looking to change to another router and use the C3150 as repeater. I have a LAN "backbone" running from ground to first floor (thanks to IP CCTV wiring) so should be quite straightforward to set up.

Will there be issues if I mix router brands ? And what is a good router to recommend ?

House type: Landed
Size of house: 1k sqft per floor / 3 floors
Features required: Long range and stable
Number of devices connected to WiFi: 8-10 devices
Internet Speed: Unifi 100 Mbps
Budget: ~RM500?

Currently my Ground floor is installed with the stock modem/router by TM (silver), first floor AsusĀ  RT-N14UHP setup as AP (connected with Ethernet cable) and 2nd floor Asus RT-AC66U setup as AP (connected with Ethernet cable)

Grd floor modem/router is situated at my back alley so the signal is very bad with the stock modem/router. So basically my grd and 1st floor are sharing the same AP router.

Now im only getting about 30 Mbps with wifi. Most of the time ill be having at least 3-4 devices connecting to it simultaneously.

Current setup is already 5 years old. So im thinking of changing the 1st floor AP router.

Hope to get some suggestions smile.gif

IMHO that TM router would be first to go, I recently changed from a 2016 TPLINK C3150 to Asus BlueCave (RM400+ from Lazada).

Wasn't expecting much, but got really consistent DL speeds (60 Mpbs Asus vs 8 Mbps TpLink) in the same downstairs location. Only been using 1 router for a 2-story detached house.

Have about 15 wireless devices (TV, Tablet, Phone, Laptop etc) and 2 Synology LAN + a networked CCTV system with no stability issues (same for the TpLink in this respect).
