Hi, I am currently using ASUS RT-AC86U as my main router, and RT-68U as my secondary router via AiMesh. Current plan is 300Mbps.

I plan to upgrade to ASUS AX11000 as my main router - mainly because I have a couple of Wifi6 devices - not sure if there's any difference because I can still achieve 300Mbps via 5Ghz wifi.

Another appeal of the AX11000 is the gaming features - where I have an XBOX console where multiplayer is important and there aren't many players in SEA region and getting connected to people from Americas and Europe region will cause latency and high ping. Not sure if this router will help with that - I also have a VPN so the port forwarding feature help? (not too sure as well).

Those with this router, any feedback to share?

Thanks!

Regarding the AX11000, 300Mbps over WiFi should not be an issue if the signal is good.

As for International ping time, that got more to do with the ISP than the router used. Though the WTFast and VPN fusion feature may be helpful.

Thanks for your advice.

Regarding the VPN Fusion feature, will it cause any Double NAT? Multiplayer games needs to be Open NAT.

For example, if I turn on VPN on my router via OpenVPN - I will get a 'Double NAT' warning on my XBOX and I can't connect to any Multiplayer games.

my current router is struggling to output 800Mbps on 5Ghz (currently using AC86U) - is it recommended for me to get a Wifi6 or Wifi6E router?
