Hi guys. I'm new to this so please bear with me.

I am using Time Fibre broadband and the WiFi signal in my 1000sqft 3 bedroom condo is bad. So, I thought of buying a new WiFi router would improve this. But I was told it is not a 1 to 1 replacement, as in what I was supplied with by Time is a WiFi modem and the WiFi router sold does not have modem capability. I was advice to first configure the existing modem to a bridge mode and then get a WiFi router and then connect it to the existing WiFi modem. I was reading some of the past posts in this subforum. My understanding is:-

1. Get a WiFi router
2. Call Time to configure the WiFi modem to bridge mode
3. Connect WiFi router to LAN port 1 of WiFi modem using LAN cable
3. Copy PPPoE details in Time portal and configure into the WiFi router

Are the steps above correct and is there anything I might have missed out? Also, with a budget of RM600, what is a good WiFi router would you guys recommend? Thanks!

if u only concern of wifi signal, don't bother with bridge mode setting if you do not have the knowledge.

you can just turn off the wifi of Time router, and connect to another strong wifi router in Access Point (AP) mode thru ethernet cable.

Hey thanks for the pointer. Had to use ChatGPT to get a little bit more clarity but managed to sort it out. You are right this is much simpler and straight forward. Thanks again.
