TS, kinda intrigued on what device did you use to hit the 800 Mbps mark. blush.gif

blacktubi Great post, I'll pass you some performance results for Mikrotik routers so you can insert them into the post.

As soon as I get my 800Mbps and start testing but dunno when that'll be.

RB2011UAS? Can't even get past 300 Mbps on ethernet. Its wireless? Around 35Mbps.

Mine is RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN. Disabled the LCD and all, and while people recommends enabling fasttrack, I cant get it to works.

PCE-AC88 with RT-AC5300 will have no issue to deliver that level of performance over wireless.

Of course, I could have fire up my Ruckus R710s but that is overkill. biggrin.gif

EDIT: All tested with non-critical features disabled to ensure NAT is always accelerated.

I was actually in the market for access point that can utilize 800Mbps, though I'm pretty sure none of our devices supports that speed at the moment.

At the moment our Archer C9's 500Mbps over wifi is good enough for us, though it tends to crash after few days. Wish it has at least some sort of scheduled reboot like Tenda's.

So far I've yet to find offering from Mikrotik and Ubiquiti that can delivers that kind of speed. RuckusR710s eh, lets see how muc- nahhhh nevermind. shakehead.gif

I have the RB2011UAS but not using as router. Also have RB750Gr3, hAP AC Lite, hAP AC2 and hAP AC. Will test when I get my 800Mbps. Also have older ones like RB750GL, RB751U, RB951U and RB951G. Some of these should be on the same performance level as RB2011UAS.
*
Cant wait. thumbup.gif Would love to stick with Mikrotik, though so far I've yet to find one that would fully utilize turbo's 800Mbps over wifi.

UAP nanoHD from UBNT can deliver that kind of speed but again it is not cheap. Their gears are pretty decent, sort of semi-Enterprise level.

Ruckus is overkill and it is very Enterprise focused.
*
yeap, we had AP-LR before. love it. As for nanoHD, i think Sublime doesn't carries one over here, and yes, might be ultra overkill for us. sweat.gif

Also, I just found out about TP-Link RE650 AC2600. Not much review yet, but thing looks promising. hmm.gif I guess any router/wifi that has AC2600 and above should be able to beam up 800Mbps over wifi, no?

Range extender will halve the bandwidth though.

You are right, AC2600 devices should not have issue unless there is a design failure.
*
It has gigabit ethernet and can be used as AP too. guess I'll pull the trigger on this one then.

I got turbo to 500Mbps. I can achieve 500Mbps on my RB2011UiAS-2HnD-IN from TM speedtest using Cat 5e cable on Gigabit port after enable FastTrack. Can you share your firewall rules (IP > Firewall > Filter Rules)?
*
another thing is, the gigabit port on my mikrotik would stuck at 100mbps for some reason. do i need to disable the rest of the unused port?

here's the config, should be correct i think.

Still wouldn't recommend a repeater on your network as it slows it down, but it is ultimately up to you.
*
i'm planning to plug in the cable from the router and set is as access point mode. should be good, no?

You find the nanoHD from Sublime store at Lazada. 😀
*
hmm, weird. i can only find nanobeam and such. hmm.gif

Can confirm Mikrotik rb2011uias-2hnd-in can support 800Mbps over LAN after enabling the fasttrack. Thank you. notworthy.gif

Sharing my humble setup.

onu alcatel lucent i240g
Attached Image

mikrotik rb2011uias-2hnd-in with its wifi and lcd display disabled. use since unifi 20 era.
Attached Image

tp-link TL-SG108E Easy Smart Switch. Got light indicator showing whether the speed is 10/100 or 1Gbps. thumbsup.gif
Attached Image

tp-link Archer C9 as access point, with all antenna replaced and the 3rd one extended to cover downstairs.

full pic.

Now I only need something to replace the C9 as the access point. icon_question.gif

Yes, I will review it soon when I have the time to test it properly.

mate, i caved in and bought the Tplink ax10 after reading your review. but i got few issues with it at the moment.

i might have wrong understanding on wifi6/ax in general, but if i select ax only mode, doesnt this make it accessible only to devices that supports ax? because almost all devices can view and connect to the ssid eventhough i've set it to ax. i use iphone 11, but others non-ax can see and connect too.

Attached Image

my ac laptop knows its an ax protocol for some reason. and can connect too.

Attached Image

okay, lets says that not the case. i tried plugging in my laptop to speedtest the ax10's speed on lan, somehow it only get about half the speed (400mbps++). my desktop that was plugged in directly to the main router get full speed. (unifi 800mbps).

operation mode is access point.

802.11ax is actually backwards compatible with 802.11ac. But, I have not tested this with other brands to determine whether a WiFi 5 device can connect to a WiFi 6 only network.

What if you switch the AX10 to be the main router to see if it can max out 800Mbps. I assume no issue with your laptop.
*
thanks for the reply mate. on it as we speak. will come back with the result.

btw, if any ac device connected to ax ssid, does it mean the wifi speed will go down to ac mode? like how mixed bgn/ac mode works.

Connecting a wireless N device to a wireless AC network won't downgrade the speed for another connecter AC devices. The same goes for AX network.
*
ok, so what happen is, i set up the ax10 as a router, replaced the old one (mikrotik), set up the wifi, and sure enough, im getting full 800mbps speed that unifi offered on my ip11. i wonder why would half of the speed lost when using it as access point.

downside is, the router crashed the moment i plugged the switch in (20-40 devices). tri-core cpu lmao. im well aware that our network is basically SOHO-grade already. laugh.gif

while my original intention is to use this as an access point to replace our Archer C9, there's point anymore. maybe sell this one off or return it.

I guess it doesn't have enough RAM to handle that many simultaneous connection.

Interesting that AP mode cap it at 400Mbps, I doubt your upstream Mikrotik router implement a QoS but that might worth checking. What if you don't use the provided AP mode and use it as "manual AP mode" instead.

Disable the DHCP, give it a manual LAN IP and connect the WAN source to the LAN ports instead.
*
yup, manual AP mode works. seems like its AP mode has bug or something...

made a stupid video to highlight wifi6 speed. check em.

Anyone here with 1Gbps TIME that actually got the advertised speed? What router did you use?

New TIME user here. Was given a Huawei HG8145X6 as part of 1gbps plan. Coming from unifi, i'm not used to see both FTB and router in one box tbh.

I never gotten the 1gbps speed even on wired, though it seems like it never crash even on heavy use which is definitely a plus. My only complain is that the port mapping/port forward thingy doesnt seems to be working at all and SIP ALG option were non-existent. And there's not much guide online. I'm working from home and run some servers from my end so this is critical.

So the reason why I'm here is that I'm looking for a router to replace it. Currently I'm eyeing for the following sub-RM400 router.

1. TP-Link AX72/AX73
2. D-Link EXO DIR-X5460

I dont really care about the wifi coverage or the wifi speed. All I need is a router with features like port mapping/forwarding and the ability to view the firewall log.

Else I think I'll go back to Mikrotik and buy a separate AX access point, which I tried to avoid. My wife doesnt like the idea of me running the cables around lol
