I want to grow some basil at home and I need plants to start.
Where can I find it?

I need SWEET BASIL, not thai basil or holy basil or other ones. I can't find in the supermarket and last time I went in Sungai Buloh but couldn't find any plant.
I saw at one of the italian restaurants in Genting that they have amazing plants, so I'm sure someone is selling them somewhere.

Any connection/name/place even in Cameron Highlands is really appreciated.

I mixed up the two kind of basils, SWEET basil is the one I need. I need the plant not the seeds.

When i saw that kinda price, having fresh basil pesto can only happen inside my dream. In reality better stick to the bottled one. The best brand with highest % of basil and extra virgin olive oil is De Cecco too bad jaya grocer no longer carrying it.

The price is prohibitive, but if I can grow by myself could be reasonable. The bottled one doesn't have anything to do with the fresh one. I've tried many and all (unfortunately) sucks.

That's so true. Nothing beats fresh pesto straight out of your own food processor. Wenever in need of basil, it just sits happily next to the kitchen window. What a lovely scene.

I tried the packaged fresh basil leaves but that only contributed a tiny bit to the dish. Then i tried the alternative versions as well, like cilantro and thai holy basil. Cilantro is ok, it pairs quite nice with lime juice and mint leaves but you'll be missing the original version. And thai holy basil tasted not so holy after made into paste, better just keep that for thai basil chicken anyway.

In reality all bottled pesto sucks, no such thing as ala genovese because all are just cut corners using fillers and cheapest ingredients. Sunflower oil for extra virgin olive oil? Potato flakes for pine nuts? Nothing gets more "interesting" than that.
