Congratz to Lewis. He may very well be this year champion. a record unimaginable to other drivers.

The Apelonso say the Safety car benefit Hamilton..  I don't understand what he mean.. and I wonder he know what he is saying or not..  doh.gif doh.gif doh.gif

without the Safety car..  Hamilton should have pull far far far away to win the race..
*
That guy is cracking now. He's losing his championship to his own new comer team mate

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jun 11 2007, 11:25 AM)
Incident filled Canadian GP. But, Lewis did a good job. No doubt abt that. Kubica is so 'lucky' with the horrific accident. I feared for the worst when it crashed.
*
Nowadays F1 cars are so tough drivers hardly get scratch during accidents
At least safety is one thing in F1 that is going in the right direction.

QUOTE(-= Virgil =- @ Jun 11 2007, 11:28 AM)
I just feel sad for Lewis cause he need to build the lead time again during the 4 SCs. Well, still he manage to pull it through.. this only shows that he is a very consistent driver and not forgetting, his speed which was way faster than any other driver on the track.
*
he mention that some part was boring, so good for him, SC spice things up a little bit laugh.gif

QUOTE(verx @ Jun 11 2007, 05:20 PM)
There's not much any driver can do when the car behind has much more grip available. You can't brake as late and on tracks with a straight followed by a slow corner like this one it was inevitable at the end of the day.
*
It can still be defended. Alonso just kept his line and let Sato through, most driver would have at least made one maneuver to either keep the car behind out of his slip stream or take the ideal racing line to try block the opponent.

It's not the first time we see Alonso gave up at the closing stage. Remember when he was overtook by Nick in previous races.

A mistake made is still a mistake, whether you're a rookie or a 10x world champion.

Alonso certainly wasn't in his best form yesterday. Look at how many time he miss chicane 1. He was full of mistake yesterday. Towards the end, he seems to play a little too safe.

Well, its his rights to do whatever he wants and play as safe as he wants too. But you won't have anyone else to blame but alonso himself when Hamilton takes the championship title away from him smile.gif

Past 2 years, alonso has been going against drivers who are driving a car that either doesn't have enough downforce or blows up engines and gearbox from time to time. This year, he's up against his own team mate with the same tool that he has. His playing safe ways may not work this time around.

BTW Massa and Fisi is horrible. worst mistake ever made.

QUOTE(linkinstreet @ Jun 12 2007, 12:08 AM)
Hmm, reminds me of Schumacher during his younger days. He always makes mistakes, but was fast enough to win the championship with Benneton. He was even still rough around the edges during his initial years at Ferrari, losing the championship to Damon, Jaques and Mika because of some stupid errors. But ppl never remember him for that, they still remember him as a 7 time world champion. But hey, like you said, mistakes are mistake.
*
Its the same for everyone. Alonso would still be remembered as the driver who won 2 world champions with Renault, and for all other championship that he will win in the future. When schumi drove into Jaques, it was an unforgivable mistake that none of his fans can defend, and I'm sure whichever team he was driving for, their fans didn't like like it either.

But now is now. If those mistakes were left unacknowledged by the driver them self, it could harm the driver himself. Massa should not have shown the thumbs down either, it was totally his own fault.

I mean, bad mistake should not be defended too much, heh.

He meant that he's taking it as a challenge and not complaining
*
I think the fact that he mention it really caught people attention, and the team will not be happy about it.

It shouldnt even be a challenge if the team is fair. The only way for it to be a challenge means that he has to be going against the tide working in the team. At least such comments does suggest so.

I don't think McLaren is unfair against him either. They sign Alonso with a huge paycheck, they're obviously committed in getting him the crown. It's up to him to prove himself that he's worth it.

I don't think so lol. I expect Alonso to look elsewhere after his contract runs out.

Hamilton is now a very valuable driver, if not most valuable after Michael Schumacher. Big budget teams like Ferrari will be looking at signing him up, and McLaren will be digging deep into their pocket to keep Hamilton there. Alonso doesn't have much to bargain for if he wants to stay at McLaren, they're going to go bankrupt with two high paying drivers.

I think at least it has some overtaking, although they didn't show kimi passing a car. But there are some real overtaking done by Button and Fisi, showing at least they can still overtake.

If compare to Monaco or Spain, those two are worse.

Anyway good job to Lewis again. This time he shows that he doesn't need Alonso to be having a bad time going offtrack for him to win. In fact, Alonso pressured him to to point of Alonso himself making mistake and Lewis didn't crack a tiny bit. That guy is going to sweep the championship.

FIA award points to those who cross the line first, not the one who does the best cha cha dance on the podium.

Kimi can celebrate however he wants, it doesn't matter. What does matter is he wins.

QUOTE(mcchin @ Jul 10 2007, 06:27 PM)
technically
it was the so called driver of that car that overcooked the corner that flatspotted the tyres
plus his "tidak apa" attitude that cause the suspension to break

the final decision is still with the driver
a driver must at least have a bit of sense how the car is doing
not just drive to the max/best he could
failing that, he might as well be a drone and be told how to shift, how to take a corner, how to brake laugh.gif

for example... massa early on the season have a better start than kimi
why?
you can say kimi need time to adjust to the car... tyres ...blalalalal
but the fact is...during offseason while massa is busy developing with the team,
kimi is busy holidaying with his gf
getting paid the highest of the two,
but do less work

now it seems ferrari have built a better car around Kimi,
and massa have the sh@t end of the stick again

Well, you might say , "why would ferrari waste another talent?"
Simple.. Pure Logic.
between the two who would you bank on furthering your mission with?
and experience driver but a tad old
or a brilliant but lazy rookie

one you can't change father Time
the other you can still change the attitude

thats why Barrichello quits ferrari
because they were never a two driver team
there are only one Driver for the team
another is called Constructor Point Drivers

edit: typo in red

Either you've watching the wrong season or you're being ignorant.

Massa isn't perfect either. Look at Canada, he refuse to take the blame for his mistake. In France, he blame back markers. Alonso instead admit that his car was two slow and refuse to blame backmarkers when asked to comment on them. He also said it's the same for Kimi so the back markers makes no different. And that's why he's a 2 times world champion.

Kimi is doing his job just fine. If he isn't helping the team developing the car by actually driving it during testing, he wouldn't have been able to learn how to use it the way Michael always do with attacking the lap times when it matters most.

Just because Massa is slower and made a mistake in the past couple of race, it doesn't meant Ferrari is developing the car around Kimi. Why not face the fact that Massa made mistake? Kimi is different from Michael. He and Massa came into a team which is already at the top. Michael came to a midfield team, build the team back up to its winning ways and go further by winning them 5 championship, keeping Ferrari up there for as long as he could.

So why complain when Ferrari builds their team around their one and only hope season after season? Eddie had the chance and he blew it. Rubens is nowhere near championship material. If Rubens could bring Honda back up to the top and win the championship, I'm 101% sure Honda will be build around him. Will anyone complain against Honda then? I though so too smile.gif

Unless you're working in Ferrari factory, you can't simply accuse them to be building the car around Kimi, just because Kimi is winning now. If you don't like kimi, too bad then but it still doesn't change the fact that Kimi is a good driver.

So Mr Britannica, where in the article mention that ferrari are building their car around Kimi? You think Massa would have just sit back and enjoy being Number 2? He's not even Number 2 yet for god's sake.

When you have a new driver like Kimi in a Ferrari or Alonso in the McLaren, you'll have to fine tune the car to their driving style. And by fine tuning means the way it's being set up, handling and stuff like that. It does NOT equate to developing aero and suspension/transmission hardware to suite their driving style.

The difference here is that all cars are tuned to each driver's style. Kimi car is tuned to his style while Massa car is tuned to his. And this cannot be done with just the few laps during each grand prix weekend as that time has to be spent to tune the car to the track conditions instead. So fine tuning the car to the drivers style is done during the hundred laps of testing.

Did any of those meant that the development of the car is biased towards Kimi? Why not build a McLaren for him instead.

simple, why montoya don't have that problem?...n why only that left suspension broken? there is 4 suspension rite? n of course all are mostly identicall especially front right n left...
*
Suspension broke because of the vibration of the flatspot. The main reason? tires are not allow to change for that particular season. Once you flatspot a tire, it tend to lock up at that very same spot making situation worse. That incident wasn't a one off and rather was a key issue about the safety of these new rules FIA came up with to spice up the circus show. Eventually, that rule lasted for one year only.

If you were to count the number times a drivers flatspot their tires, you'll lost count each race. Everyone flatspot their tires every once in a while. Its just that the tires got change and furthermore, with tire changes, the tire doesn't have to be ridiculously hard that made it easy to lock the tires up badly.

Just like alonso, kimi is a world champion material. If you wanna dig out all Kimi's weakness, Alonso has them too even in this season. But what's the point right? Its the result that matters. There's no need to go as far as accusing Ferrari of developing their car for kimi just cause his winning now and he's not in your "ILoveThem" list

r u blind or sumting...i bold it already...almondo itself mention it...development n tuning is 2 diferent thing...development is when u add, remove, replace part to the car aero, chasis, engine n other mechanical stuff...tuning is adjusting the part like cornering angle, suspension stiffness, degrees of front wing or rear wing n so on.... have u ever read any article like i given before say sumting like that about alonso or mclaren?
*
You sir, are trying to put Kimi down just because you don't like him. You wanna talk about Kimi mistakes and accuse Ferrari of favoring Kimi just because Kimi is winning and you don't like him. Well, anyone can do the same against Alonso by digging out all his mistake and how he gets trash by someone with a paycheck less than half of his, but whats the point? Just cause you doesn't like a driver doesn't mean that you must be perpetually ignorant against his ability as a driver himself and the fact that he is a championship material, he is a top driver, the way Alonso is.

I don't like Alonso all that much either but to me, he's still a world champion and will always be. I didn't say Alonso wins cause the McLaren wings are flexing, or that McLaren are building their car in favor of him. He wins cause he's fast. And he beaten the over-inflated Lewis cause he has more experience in handling pressure.

So why is there a need of being so shallow as to put kimi down with all this ridiculous accusation instead of embracing the fact that Kimi is fast and there's a reason why Luca pays him such a huge paycheck?

Afterall, both Ferrari driver have to prove themself and at this point of the championship, no biased favor is given to any of the driver yet.

i think bout his overtaking move on massa. Massa is a sore loser imho. Good win by alonso.

Alonso currently is one of the best driver in wets, though not as bullet proof as Michael once was. But still the best of current drivers.

But let me ask you something. Did you for a moment, felt that Alonso gesture at his car's side pod was necessary? I mean, its just a plain racing incident, its not like he never defended his position in such manner before. Why did he feel the need to act in such a childish way?

Of course Massa is no innocent either, he should had keep himself compose and give Alonso a wake up call during press conference that that is the way people defend, that's just racing incident, don't like it? Tough buns.
