I just feel sad for Lewis cause he need to build the lead time again during the 4 SCs. Well, still he manage to pull it through.. this only shows that he is a very consistent driver and not forgetting, his speed which was way faster than any other driver on the track.

Dont forget that Alonso was on the super soft tires when Sato make the cut. He is definitely much much slower after all the lawn mowing incidents (how many times did he lawn mow that area? Couldnt remember doh.gif )

Alonso makes case for number one status

QUOTE
Fernando Alonso thinks Monaco would have helped his quest to emerge as McLaren's clear 'number one' for the rest of the season.

The Spaniard is tied on points in the drivers' championship with team-mate Lewis Hamilton, but Monte Carlo was his second win for the silver camp.

"It is understandable that the team still has doubts about who should be the number one," Alonso is quoted as saying by the Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport.

He said: "We are tied on points and we have the same opportunities, which is why winning in Monaco was very important from that point of view. Now it is up to me to take advantage of it."

Alonso also dismissed the British press' furious suggestions last week that only illegal team orders prevented Hamilton from going for the win in Monaco.

"The only certainty is that if you arrive at your first pit stop with a ten second disadvantage to your teammate, it is going to be very difficult for you to pass him," Alonso said.

I wonder why is Alonso so worried.
Afterall, Lewis is just a rookie and he is the WDC whistling.gif

Awww Alonso starts to complain again... at his team again...

What's with his statement, what exactly is he trying to say?!

QUOTE
"The Spanish press has more respect than the British press."

QUOTE
"I have a British team-mate in a British team, and he's doing a great job and we know that all the support and help is going to him and I understood that from the beginning.

I just dont understand why Alonso is so demanding. I mean he said he didnt get the attention he needed, and i am just wondering who gave him the cover in Sepang, Spain anyone?! And in Monaco...

Just 1 race that he perform badly and Lewis gets the spotlight and now he is coming up to complain? Come on man, this is F1...

Maybe next time, Alonso should apply some common sense when doing interview or just avoid doing any, like Lewis biggrin.gif

Back to topic, what he said was, this is still early in the season. And to be second in points behind his own teammate with many races to go will be benifiting to him as he still has time to learn about teh car and the tyres more. Thus he is confident by the time F1 is in Brazil, he will won the world championship.

Erm.. i kind of agree with you. But i would break up his sentence into 2 parts. First is the front where he said that he is where he is at now. The place he is in now is what he have expected. I wont defy what he said was true because i couldnt read his mind, whether he have already expected that he will perform badly in Montreal.

But i am just wondering, would a person expect that he would end up 7th after qualifying for a 2nd place? After having a good start in F1? Would he have even predicted that he would end up tailing 8 championship points behind?

It was his mistake that he lawn mow that area, his aggressiveness, and now he is saying this is expected. If i were to say, it might just be a lie.

Edited: Maybe i think too much, and sad my english aint that good, so if you will excuse me whistling.gif

He meant that he's taking it as a challenge and not complaining

Yea, that is basically what he means

well in a sarcastic way of saying it though.

Btw, i am not sure if he said it in Spanish and then the media translate it to English which can cause massive confusion like the previous article. Best, listen to what the Spanish media has to say about his words rather than the English papers...

I am just getting paranoid sometimes....

Gosh! I think the Brits are going overboard here. Not like i am a Alonso f-a-n-s or whatever but then, i seriously think this is going overboard.

I read in another forum that there is some translation error on the interview and the answeres did not came out from Alonso's mouth at all. It was the interviewer who ask a YES/NO and a little twist in words that cause the whole confusion. Moreover, its SPANISH!!

So i think we can leave this guy alone for now. He still has a lot to catchup to his young teammate anyway.

Edited: Oh btw, i am not aiming at the "Watson say" article, its connected to the "root" of it.

Shouldnt it be Lewis & Fernando rather than "lewis n hamilton" laugh.gif

Another sign that Lewis is being the favorites over Alonso and taking all the attention tongue.gif

How come Alonso always complains that he is ill treated by his team. When he was with Renault, same things happened. Now with Mclaren, again it happened.

I always thought that the McLarens has always been focusing on getting more grip since it is easier to predict the movement of the car. Well i am not sure if Alonso did change his driving style, as long as he is faster that way, shouldnt he be satisfied eh tongue.gif
