I don't think that's true. Apple doesn't get 98% Customer Satisfaction scores if their staff turn down warranty claims. It's the Resellers and authorized service centres here may have their own policies or rules that makes it harder for us. My brother in law has a US iPhone X and he has claimed warranty in the Apple Store in Taipei where he's staying. No issues.

I could be wrong, but given the number of international visitors to Singapore and the large expat community there, I think they will have the capability and the parts to repair thise phones. Might take a longer time if parts are unavailable as you mentioned.

It's the same for the iPhone 8 Plus vs 7 Plus. The 7 Plus battery lasted longer despite Apple's claim of optimization on the 8 Plus. Hence there's no need for X owners to go to Xs, unless you want the screen estate of the Xs Max.

Actually that's what I tell myself too every time I upgrade my iPhone. Sold my 7+ for RM3k last year and then told myself I'm only paying RM1888 for my iPhone X earlier this year...

This year will be telling myself sold my wife's 8 Plus for 2900 and adding xxx for my next iPhone...
