hi, i'm doing my braces at David's Orthodontics, anyone from there?
i've been wearing braces for a week. and my next appointment is in a month time.
The dentist told me that i will be extracting 4 teeth (2 upper, 2 bottom)
But if my next appointment is in a month time, this whole month without extracting teeth...how will the teeth move???
Last time my sis's dentist remove the teeth before putting braces.
So, anyone encountering this? Is mine normal? hmm.gif hmm.gif

sE_vIxEn, u did ur teeth at David Orthodontics, right? Tell me it's normal, im worried cry.gif

hi dear, i'm here. nod.gif

you said that you've been wearing braces for a week. usually the doctor will give you a short period to 'get used to it'. he can't just put in the wires and expect everything to go in place. the patient might experience shock at the sudden movements and discomfort. that's why usually the first month he'll just fix the metals on your teeth and let it move very, very slowly. as you progress, the changes will be fast because you've grown used to it.

it is normal for you to extract your teeth soon, don't worry. is Dr Muhammad taking care of you? you're in good hands dear. smile.gif everything about bracing is gradual changes as your progress over time. wink.gif

bracing is a very personalized treatment, guys, please don't compare yourself with others to prevent unnecessary confusion. unless, of course, you feel that your doctor is not up to par.

thanks for your reply nod.gif nod.gif
Yes Dr Subra is taking care of me.
Dr Subra = Dr Muhammad right? lol
So far he is the only person doing for me, unless u count another lady Dentist who just helps a bit here and there.
I feel kinda useless wearing this braces for a month without extracting any teeth though, bcos my next appointment is in 3 weeks. doh.gif

hi, someone please help me with this.
I am to go for an international flight next week.
My concern is whether my braces in my mouth will alert the alarm system during the checking in .
You know, the one where we have to put our bags in the belt scanning system, then we have to go through the scanning door.
Will the metals from my braces makes the alarm sound?
