halor fellow bracesians. just stumbled across this thread im halfway through the de-bracing process. gonna have it all off in about a week and a half's time weehoo!

i gots a question though: is it normal to have permanent and removable retainers at the same time? today hor, my dentist put in that metal wire thingie on the lower jar. last month sudah buat the upper. so, found it weird that im having permanent retainers now

ohh daaaamn. i can still remember the after effects of having the braces on for the first few days

dont think doc will clean your teeth lol. and yes, it'll hurt after changing the wire

dont worry la. its not as bad as having the braces on for the first time. the first time i would say is the worst

wah. lucky lor. it basically feels like this: try pushing 1 tooth with your finger and hold it there. slowly you can feel the pressure. so, after tightening, the pressure will be on all the teeth that is tied together by the wire lor

thats what i did too! XD i had to tie from the second last molar to one of the hooks near the canines there. i hooked the rubber band on the second last molar first then pull to the front and let go! XD

things we do for a beautiful smile...*sigh*

i dread my next appointment too...it should be the final but there's this stubborn bracket near the back and omg...my dentist tried to remove it and felt like tarik gigi without anaesthesia it still hasnt been removed though gah!

anybody here sudah de-braced? need to ask a ques

is it normal for the retainers to hurt a bit at the molars where it hooks? kinda finding the sensation a bit annoying lol

Can anyone recommend an experienced ortho doc in KL/Cheras area (staying near Kajang but willing to travel for a good doc)? I've already completed my braces and all that. Been wearing retainers for a few years already. Problem is, I sometimes grind my teeth at night, and I've been through nearly 2 essix retainers. I need another solution other than busting essix retainers.

Previously was using hawleys for upper and lower. Then swapped to hawley for upper and essix for lower, but I grind my teeth. So lower one swapped to a thicker essix but looks like I'm busting that one too. Also wanna swap docs cuz the ortho doc that did my braces has a ridiculous waiting time at the clinic even though I have an appointment.
